There were reports of Qatar state being interested in buying Leads United while they were in PL. So I am hoping Southampton gets promoted.
It didn't go through, but Al K held discussions with Leeds, Liverpool and Spurs over the years to make investment before Sheikh Jassim got involved in Man Utd bidding. ------------ Sothampton won 1-0 and got promoted. Leeds remain in 2nd division.
Yeah, I don't recall this. There were discussions years ago, before the Debartolos got involved, but that didn't happen. The Debartolos are well-capitalized. You got a link? (I think its important to know which clubs to hate, based on their ownership. )
2019: Qatar in talks to buy stake in Leeds United https://www.arabnews.com/node/1502281/amp Qatar 'had long discussions' over Leeds bid before launching Man Utd takeover plan PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had 'long discussions' with Leeds over a possible takeover bid prior to Qatar's imminent offer for Manchester United, according to reports in France. The 49-year-old chief is the chairman of Qatar Sports Investments, who have been actively exploring the proposition of investing in a Premier League club alongside their project in Paris, where there are fears any purchase of United could have damaging implications for the Ligue 1 champions. Le Parisien are reporting that Al-Khelaifi himself was involved in active discussions with the Elland Road hierarchy over a possible takeover bid that failed to materialise despite extensive conversations https://www.leparisien.fr/sports/fo...psg-14-02-2023-7UA3B3FWRJB3NCUQCA3OLZNUAY.php https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...r-PSG-Nasser-Al-Khelaifi-Man-Utd-takeover-bid -------------- I remember this because Leeds fans around 2021 in the Guardian comments section were fawning at the prospect of Haaland joining them from Dortmund if Qatar takeover went through and were already making justifications like he's Leeds fan because his dad played there and wouldn't be just for the money.
I used to watch some Dortmund games for Haaland then. Now good teams mark him out like he's a lamp post. He got clockwork Orange-d. Same process that Grealish went through to go from a flair player, the x Factor, the box office he was at Villa to the soulless boring back pass zombie he is now. All are cogs in Satan’s totalitarian system. Any ounce of creativity & you’re in the Gulag https://t.co/2rFYz10nRI— Prop Joe (@FPLProp) May 25, 2024
Hgihlights against Bochum and Hertha BSC hardly compare to facing Real Madrid in the CL semi final. What happened with Haaland is the opponents he's facing became better as did the expectations become higher. The best comp for Haaland is Lewandowski. That's as good as he can get. There's also things that i am not willing to say in public for legal reasons, but people that know, know.
Wow that's such a tease. Spill it indirectly like HW blind item articles. Lewa didn't have a reputation of big game cone though. Haaland is gaining that reputation.
Interesting, never heard anyone say that before, unless they're from the south coast of course, like Bournemouth or Portsmouth, no offence but Southampton seems a rather middle of the road kind of team that wouldn't bring out those thoughts one way or the other One theory i heard is after failing to land a few who they were after this is a coach that Pep sings the praises of so they think he might have............. something, gotta have someone to coach the team Of course, you were right from the start, no one said he was a shit player, just not as good as the company he claims he's in, which is absolutely debatable As for Haaland, early o clock i agreed with Roy Keane, goalscorer yes, all round football not so much, fans here would be tearing their hair out if he neither took part in the overall game or scored, we see it already, personal taste, give me Kylian all day everyday
Somebody pointed out that Kompany's buyout as a coach is higher than he's ever been worth as a player, and that's actually true.
Nobody is "hating". Would you rather have him or Bellingham? Of course he's an elite striker. But there's a special special tiny percentage of player that's an instant difference maker.
Better offers for R9 if he wants to sell now. 🚨 Official: Real Valladolid get promoted and return to La Liga! pic.twitter.com/n5gMBJBMTT— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 26, 2024
Leeds staying down with a thud Outstanding transfer fee creditors of £190m mean that Leeds will have to pay for old player acquisitions before they can spend this summer. https://t.co/cHxgG7fVjv— Kieran Maguire (@KieranMaguire) May 26, 2024
Just growing up where I did meant that I came into contact with more than my fair share of their fans.
At least points deduction must be coming then if not proper punishment. Guardiola expected to step down as Man City manager next summer https://t.co/t6cdovI6wn— Jack Gaughan (@Jack_Gaughan) May 26, 2024
I think it’s just pushback given the level of praise he was getting before. While his numbers were/are up there, his general play really isn’t up to par with what you’d come to expect of supposedly the best striker on the planet. This isn’t even comparing him to Ronaldo/Messi. But just what he offers on the ball. Take Benzema. Even when he had a horrible season stats wise, his abilities on the ball were an incredible asset. Currently Haaland doesn’t seem to offer much other than putting the ball in the net. Granted that is the most important part, but with that lacking in big games…one has to wonder what he really adds to the team at that point. At best a good diversion for the opposition to focus on and let other players go unmarked but other than that…
Lots of reports swirling now that Pep has decided to step down next summer. One can imagine they’ve been told points deduction of relegation is likely, but even then it would be an appeal which could take several years. Maybe he’s just had enough.
