Yes, we (and all Prem Clubs) are fronts/fences for marketing and sales opportunities to grow the parent brand and investment portfolio.
So while we sell off all our homegrown players for "pure profit", install half the population of Brighton as Directors, scouts and executives, we have now hired a New Zealand ******** to on behalf of Holly-Todd-et-al teach us what to means to be Chelsea and define our identity and history. JJM wept. https://trainingground.guru/articles/chelsea-hire-eastwood-to-lead-identity-project
....he has worked with major teams in a number of sports, including Gareth Southgate’s England. So maybe Poch will start wearing a waistcoat soon? Or build the Poch style around a large cravat? Bow tie? some fancy slip on shoes? And we do really want to explore and highlight the Chelsea football history and culture? the headhunters? the Chelsea smile? Maybe instead of cheerleaders we could have 'stabbers' who just go around stabbing people as pre-game and half-time entertainment? The stabbers could be wearing sheepskin coats and channeling the vibes of David Webb and Chopper Harris. Some true alignment with our legacy might be fun? More fun than watching our current team anyways.
Looking at the vision board - I can see Stamford the Lion giving away FREE Chelsea smiles to the kids in the away end
A simple unloaded question for us US based peeps, ...really...; Official Chelsea seems so excited and advertising the heck out of us playing Wrexham this summer again, (cool fun story but I have not watched the show yet) but do others give a ******** or less than a ********? I don't care much either way, it is a friendly after all, rather see us play a bigger team and not the least bit moved to travel for it, like I might just a bit for other match-ups but is this a plus or a minus for others or a plus and will travel for the Wrexham fans/viewers?
Anyone that was a fan of Chelsea doesn’t give a shit. It’s the new fans to the sport that learned about it through that series that Chelsea higher ups are trying to capture as those fans will want a “premier” team. I’d rather we not waste our time against them.
Well, we could always do with the new fans, I guess. I wonder if Todd et al know that Chelsea have toured the USA before? They seem to truly think that they have invented everything. It is rather embarrassing tbh. Todd and his 'lets show them how it is done' attitude. FYI Todd - some perspective: The Super Bowl had an average TV viewership of 99.2 million on NBC plus an estimated 30 to 50 million viewers around the world. 1.5 billion watched the World cup final.
Summer tour games always seem a little bull-$#!ty. We’re fans of the show in our house, so I’d pay to see the match-up. Also recommend the show.
What are we upset about here? I like being able to see the team for a reasonable flight. Hope the women come back too.
Not upset, was just curious if people here were as excited as The Club itself was about Wrexham. I do find it a bit too much hype for a League 2 match-up but I do get we are always trying to add new fans, and yes I do meet a lot of newbies who love the celeb Wrexham show. If I was closer to a site I might go, but from NM it is not much more just to go to London for a real match so i lean my funds that direction.
Its not really that exciting to play Wrexham now is it? In the Roman era we played proper games. Just saying. Not upset, more bewildered, as Todd continues to show us all 'how it is done'.
Not upset but I don’t give two shits about that club. I’d much rather watch a preseason game with Chelsea playing another top side.
I agree, however I think we shall be playing City while we are there, you can't get much more 'top' than that.

https://chelsea.news/2024/05/110609/amp/ Boehly selling stake or stepping back? He’s been a convenient scapegoat, but maybe that’s all he ever was.
interesting. He certainly can’t view his tenure as a success so far. And Pocchetino‘s departure seemed like a big boo-boo. Maybe he has had enough.
A lot of what I have been reading lately is that Behdad Eghbali was the one who wanted pooh out, not Todd, and is the biggest disciple of the DOF's and DeZerbi, and Clearlake has more money in the project so perhaps more influence, so I may have to retire Boehly-Wood and come up with something else. Also it was just a theory from an espn podcaster without any basis

This ownership has shown so far that their best ability is finding and exploiting financial loopholes. While you have to respect and appreciate it on some level, it leaves me with a sense of foreboding. It's hard to shake the feeling that the whole club is being built like a house of cards these days
