My outsider tip. We should hire the Hearts manager Eva Olid. ---- Heart of Midlothian W.F.C. Night's players award. So proud of my players and thanks for this amazing season 22-23. 🇱🇻⚽️ pic.twitter.com/IcNWZSn7zm— Eva Olid (@Eva_Olid) April 24, 2023
Lots of talk on the twitter. . . .Breaking : Roberto DeZerbi is already in London finalizing details of backroom staff with #Chelsea . Announcement is imminent . . . Roberto DeZerbi - a downgrade or a sideways move from Poch in all honesty. Our Sporting Directors must have done a whole bunch of coke with Roberto at some point? One can imagine the convo. Is he worth paying Brighton 12 million quid for? He’s not is he. His appointment has disaster written all over it. A disaster waiting to happen.
pooch won as many Pl matches in May as DeZerbi won in 2024 (4w 6d 8L) If true: we want to pay Brighton even more money for a manager they no longer wanted Interpol needs to investigate gotta be a money laundering scheme; or the DoooF's are going to prove they were right geniuses to pay huge money for Mudryk (and Enzo) even if it takes 20 head coaches and a life time of never making Real Europe again. They are like those gamblers that go to Vegas with an innovative genius system to double down + 50% so they can't lose...
He's already left Brighton I believe? Anyway we dont want a manager who's only won 5 league games since Christmas! Why the bloody hell do they think he would be any better than Pochettino!! Also I've read that for the club to adhere to Uefa rules so that we can participate in the dog sh*te Euro Conference bollox we'd have to sell even more players!! I don't know how true that is but if it is the case we must tell Uefa that we are not going to participate!! I'd rather keep the players! In fact thinking about it I'd rather not play this pointless competition simply to reduce the risk of more bloody injuries!! I see Man City's Jeremy Doku described Reece James as the most difficult opponent he's ever played against.........now watch us sell him so that we get to play some Finnish part timers that we've never heard of!! Did I say that the owners are f*ckin idiots!!
Been reported that the Brighton parting by mutual consent deal included reducing the buyout to 10 million which would still have to paid to Brighton if a team hires DeZerbi
If they wanted Brighton why didn't they just buy them in the first place Probably too far from their luxury London apartments.
Well allegedly McKenna is out which means he is going to ManU or he is going to be the next Pep but he smiled the wrong way at the 2 Dooo'F's
Yep. McKenna sounded by far the most interesting option, but he appears to now be the first one ruled out of the shortlist. We are left with De Zerbi and Maresca. It has been reported that Maresca once sat next to Pep on the bus. Our DoF's might want to expand their list? Expand the search. (Kinda mad to think that Ancelotti was managing Everton). DeZerbi or Maresca? In all honesty that is a pitiful response to bringing in a dynamic manager. "Young and progressive" --- lol. I mean they are probably decent enough blokes. Nothing personal. Young and progressive. . . how about David Moyes and some hair dye?
Enzo Maresca is Chelsea's No. 1 target as new head coach. Chelsea have today asked Leicester for official permission to speak with Maresca over the job. Now appears v likely to happen this week. So it is 10 million quid to Leicester or 10 million quid to Brighton.
Our Directors of Football decided that if you shovel enough coke up your nose you can barely tell the difference
Thoughts on Pep's mini-me? As head Coach: 1 year as MCity's reserve coach; 3-4 months at SeireB Parma and 1 year in Championship. After 1 year as Man City's title winning Premier 2 League coach, Cole played and some other talents I would guess. He then had a few months at his first gig Serie 2 Parma where he went 27% before being fired. Back to City for a year as a Pep assistant, not exactly a long tutelage but he has worked for some other big names including Carlo Then to Leicester, where I would guess he had the Championships most talented and expensive roster, but obviously did well. The fans there are on his side. Concerning though is this from Leicester Live: "While there were some rough patches throughout the campaign, firstly around the style of play and then because of his reluctance to change his gameplan even amid poor results in late winter and early spring" One of the biggest common denominators of our past failed managers is hard-headed lack of flexibility and failure to learn and adjust as needed. So just an unknown big gamble, here we go...
yep, unknown and a big gamble - if he can get the support of the players . . .yeah we have a great players. then we will be fine. https://www.tiktok.com/@footballdaily/video/7373678942965812512?_r=1&_t=8mi5vMu1wNl
If the form at the back end of last season continues into the new one he might be OK, there is however a good chance he'll be out the door before Christmas!! I would say he needs to be given TIME but what's the point? The idiots in charge wouldn't listen.
Perhaps Poch was let go because he didn't turn us into Brighton. So now they hire someone more 'Brighton', in order to turn us into Brighton. Yes that's our club's ultimate goal. Become Brighton. How about we buy over their stadium for 5bn quids and move in there? We can stay forever in mid table mediocrity.
The comments on articles about Maresca from Leicester fans don’t seem too broken up about losing him. Felt he could have done better with an expensive roster, was inflexible tactically and played boring football. He sounds perfect.
Enzo. Done deal. Five years. Five year deal. Poch only got the 2 and served one. Welcome Gaffer. Now it's done I'll back him. Have nothing against Maresca, just want to see some entertaining football. The board were impressed by his encyclopedic knowledge of all of the Chelsea players, including some of the younger players and loanees. He also said he has the 'perfect plan' in how to utilize Enzo Fernandez. The optimist in me is saying our squad is far, far more suited to Maresca's football than Poch's. History is on our side. 5 of our last 6 Italian manages won trophies here. Top 4 & Conference League or fcuck off. There's probably 3 big worries. - Recycle football - Reactive. (Late Substitutions) - Stubborn with his tactics. No plan B. I'm getting the impression that he knows how to imitate Pep's tactics, but doesn't actually have the managerial ability himself when it comes to substitutions/changing strategy etc.
For all of you who last year kept saying, "no, no, no, too much forward passing we see", "don't confuse our players with "Plan B's"... this guy is for you, apparently; "That same patient play which ranks Guardiola's side bottom of the Premier League for forward-pass proportion year after year was embedded almost overnight - in the Championship only Southampton's percentage was lower than Leicester's last season." https://www.skysports.com/football/...-chelsea-radars-ahead-of-stamford-bridge-move sounds like Sarri revisited but hoping for the best (one big difference is Pep has Plan B's thru Z's, sometimes a bit to his detriment) And anyone else a bit worried we have 2 guys with laptops, who never played professional football nor coached professional football picking the Head-Coach for a professional football team.
Yes it worries me! I think perhaps US sports (and i say perhaps because I don't know much about US sports) are more suited to coaching via stats and a laptop and I worry that this particular 'practice' is being introduced into Chelsea FC when as we know football is (to quote a phrase) a 'funny ole game' that cannot be played on paper. As we all know too well 90% possession 750+ passes and 30 shots at goal does NOT necessarily mean that you go home with all the points. The one good thing about Maresca (if it proves to be him) is that he is Italian..............and when it comes to football 'tactics' the Italians are usually pretty good though they can be be a bit 'dull' - but at least dull doesn't equal relegation.
