In 2009 Seattle created the Western conference and for a decade plus the West dominated this, to the point that we wondered if it was more or less a permanent feature of MLS. Or at least a long lasting one. The West seemed to have much more ambition as a group.

The West will be back but those of us (raises hand) who thought this was going to last a while, it appears to be over now.

Well, only one of the Texas teams have had the privilege of playing the Chicago Fire!

Oh, and we do thank Houston for their generosity of allowing us to beat them on April 6, 2024 for one of our two wins on the season.

That also happens to be the last time the Fire have scored a goal, so we are doubly thankful.
