It is a curious case and one of the many things that make me just shake my head and laugh. Futbol can be such a weird yet entertaining sport on and off the field.

Back to his case though, the only things I can think of are maybe he did not file his one-time switch correctly or some sort of clerical error. But FIFA would probably come out and say that if it were the case.

My second theory is that he just catfished FIFA and his father is not really from Equatorial Guinea and in order to save face cause he fooled them for a while is that they are just saying he is ineligible after looking at all the evidence.
I hope someone does a documentary and gets to the bottom of this story. I think it would be very interesting to watch.

Lol so Tunisias luck continues again and again. Always the easiest groups and play-off fixtures. And now 6 point deduction for their closest rivals. What a shame, i hope it gets overruled

in fact, if that stands, i do not so much see the advantage on their sides but rather on Namibia's.

So apparently Nsue was fined back in 2015 and Equatorial Guinea forfeited afcon qualifying matches because Nsue had not provided proper documents for his switch.

Apparently he has still not done so almost a decade later and EG have 10 days to appeal and provide the documents.

This seems crazy that a decade has gone by and he has participated in numerous Afcons including the most recent one where he was the top scorer.

how can CAF let a Nation list a player for multiple AFCONs with such doubts.

what will happen with the results of EQG in all those tournaments if that is confirmed?

Usually FIFA and Confederations don't do anything unless someone speaks up and complains.

We have seen in South America it took Peru to complain about Bolivia to get points deducted and most recently Chile complained about Ecuador playing a Colombian born player.
If those Federations would not have done their research and filed official complaints then those countries probably would have gotten away with it.

Would love to take credit, but that was Chile's doing... the ruling just so happened to favor Peru more :ROFLMAO:

Yes, I forgot Chile brought it up initially.
Peru did join the case though. I think they had lawyers and investigative journalists help.

Yep and Tunisia beats EG just as we speak to go clear at the topic while now-nearest rival Namibia also slip with a draw vs Liberia. Lol, congrats Tunisia I guess it is then....

Lesotho keeps impressing. A 2-0 victory against Zimbabwe. Meanwhile in the group Nigeria once again drew. This times against South Africa. Luckily for Nigeria this group is still very open, and none of the other teams are expected to just win with ease. So they Can still turn this around. There is 3 points between 1st and 6th place. But Nigeria hasnt Been impressive this qualifiers.

Me and Many others had Mali to qualify for the first time ever. But they only have 4 points After 3 games, which all have Been at home. They lost in stoppage time to Ghana. There are 3 teams ahead of Them. Its still possible, but Its going to be tough getting the first place in the group. In that case they have to hope they become one of the best 3rd place teams.
Ghana have 2 Wins, but both of Them was in stoppage time. With a little less luck, things could have Been bad for Them.

It seems like Egypt, Morocco, Ivory Coast and Tunisia are going to the World Cup. They all have had a very good start result wise

Uganda taking the lead in group G of CAF in a crucial Match against Algeria, where after Botswana win at Somalia in the afternoon there were 5 teams Level on points (6)

and now Uganda are currently toping the group.

Looks like Uganda and Guinea give Algeria a tough race.

I know the game aint finished yet, but Algeria have really fallen from the top of Africa. I remember before the AFCON 2022, Algeria were the biggest favourites. They were defending champions and even won the Arab cup with their B team. Since then, they have Been eliminated twice from the AFCON. And are right now in Big trouble

It is crazy. Before the pandemic hit Algeria were looking really good. Could that be a factor? Tactics? Just underachieving?

The group winners qualify, and the top four second place teams go to a playoff. No third place teams advance.

The top three teams in Group C have never qualified, and the second and third place teams were not among the twenty teams in this topic's poll. Benin is first, Lesotho is second, and Rwanda is third. Nigeria is fifth with three draws and one loss.

so after 4 out of typically 10 matchdays we have a quite suprising standings in Africa

    In bold, the potential first-timers.

    A - Egypt
    B - Sudan
    C - Rwanda

    D - Cameroon
    E - Morocco
    F - Ivory Coast
    G - Algeria
    H - Tunisia
    I - Comoros

So quite some surprises, especially that Nigeria and Mali look very shaky.

Still an open race in many groups, maybe except the one of Morocco.

It will be interesting to see, what they do with the playoff qualification table.
Witb Eritera out and Niger in doubt, CAF propably needs to declare that only the matches against the top 4 teams in each group count for deciding with 4 group runners-up advance to the CAF playoffs.

Algeria's weak point is the defense, I can't believe they still use Mandi
