For a moment, your typo made me believe that a game had really ended on a 12-1 score!

Yesterday, Roma won the last trophy of the Italian season, Coppa Italia, with a crazy game that at some point they were losing by 1-3 to Fiorentina and that they finally managed to win after extra-time and penalty shootout. Both Saki Kumagai and Moeka Minami were starters: the former was subbed-off at 73', on a 1-3 score; the latter played the full game, extra-time included, and it was one of the most eventful ones for her in this season: she was beaten by Madelen Janogy on Fiorentina's 3rd goal, she went back to score Roma's 2nd goal from a FK-action, she made a miraculous save in the extra-time and she was also close to scoring again later from a CK-action. Enjoy the 7':30" highlight video.

Oh, sorry. I ignored the second check again.
As only useless excuse, my new keyboard's touch is very sensitive, so often types the next key at the same time.

Some attendance numbers in WE LEAGUE
    We league attendance stats 2021-24.jpg
(*Cerezo numbers in cursive from Nadeshiko League, not counted for average and total of WEL 21/22 and 22/23)

Total attendance this season was 227 377 with an average 1 723 per match.
Its nice to see a 38.5% raise of total attendance when compared to last season (even after taking into account 12 clubs this season vs. 11 in previous one)

566 721 tickets sold* across 3 years of WE League

    (*including free entry matches)

Question, what's average price of a ticket in WE League?

It varies from club to club, but most tickets are between 1500 yen to 3500 yen. Kids tickets are around 1000 yen.

The overall numbers this year were propped up by Hiroshima and Niigata with both teams seeing significant increases in attandance.

I wonder what they did differently this season to improve their attandances?

Maybe the World Cup from last year, despite the disappointing ending, was enough to generate some interest? Japan had some brilliant games there (although, on the other hand, it has to be said that most of the NT members play abroad and not in the WE League :cautious:).

Since I support both teams I may have some explanations.
    Hiroshima :
    • Winning the We League cup
    • A new stadium
    • A huge campaign on social networks to get people going to the new stadium
Since they play at the new stadium, the average attendance is 3 794 per match (7 games played)
This season, the first 4 games in the old stadium, the average attendance was 1 401 per match

    Niigata :
    • Reaching the We League cup final
    • Kawasumi joining the team
    • Kawasumi saying at the beginning of the season : "the next goal is to win the We League"
And I also do think that reaching the quarter final of 2023 WC did indeed had an impact.

I've been watching ESPN FC and found out bookies have Australia over Nadeshiko to win Olympic gold medal. :cautious:

Sorry to say, but I think you missed the Regina vs. Cerezo game, Regina won 1-0 with an Ueno goal (her 11th in 22 games, not bad at all)

Quite strange match-day: Via have their first loss in ages, but basically no-one takes advantage, because 4 out of 5 of the top-teams lose their games (only Nippatsu win theirs because it was against another top-5 rival). :cautious:

Albion manage to reach the 10th position: they lost 8 games, but they won the other 3, and those 9 points are good enough at the moment. :)

The official website claims that Sfida's 3rd goal was by Yushika Nakamura and not Mitsuki Horie. :cautious:

In Division 2, Belle only wins by 1-0 the Okayama's derby, but one goal is enough for Yokoyama to keep scoring. :alien:

Apparently, Haruka Hamada scored already, soon after getting back from retirement (a PK, if I read well?).

Or Sweden..? I presume there’s some gap in the table..

Aussies without Kerr are surely overrated.
