FWIW I'm seeing more and more young people with Real Madrid jerseys these days at pick up soccer games, it's not as ubiquitous as Barca 10 jerseys but it's really noticable.

Just a result of the recent success of the club. Kids just follow whatever is trendy and cool.

Thats why you barely see any lifelong City fans under the age of 40.

Yeah same here, especially after we made the final this year.

You'll either have local teams, hipsters (West Ham, Fiorentina etc.) or a Madrid/Barca shirt. The PSG Nike mania seems to be cooling off considerably as well.

They are even less relevant as a club than they were 5+ years ago. The club was used as some sort of front for the Qatari World Cup bid and associated sports washing, but that's all become a distant memory now.

I don't see how PSG's owners see how the club can be "used" as a puppet anymore. There isn't much more to gain.

Mbappe would steal our thunder if he announces his arrival now. It would also disrespect PSG. Mbappe seems like a nice man who thinks about others.

Let us play the final first.

It's going to be absolutely beautiful when we meet PSG in the CL...and Mbappe drops a hat trick on them....and celebrates.

The French media meltdown will be delicious..

I think you're way too invested in this.
Chances are if he plays well the only ones bothered will be PSG fans, and not even all of them.

I am sure most regular people are more realistic about how long they could keep him around there.

Considering the President of France repeatedly got involved and so many French journalists seemed to be pro-PSG during this saga, I doubt it.

Not even lol. I'm only saying this jokingly.

I regularly follow French football shows like l'Equipe and Rothen....and you would absolutely amazed about how bad they are speaking of their greatest ever player...... like he did nothing at PSG. The hate is insane....

Now imagine we play them and he scores on them....:ROFLMAO:

No way he can ever go back there in CL knockout fixture against PSG and be seen as anything other than a mercenary, turncoat and traitor.

I think even casual French fans will see him for what he is, not unlike LeBron, a title and clout chasing sellout.

Man, I hope this isn't true. Not a good look if the club is pressuring players to risk their futures and financial security with the unwritten and unenforceable "promise" that they will be there in the end.

It's actually looking like we are going to need a CB with the injuries to Alaba and Militao and Nacho leaving. Unfortunately there's no telling what the situation will look like in a year and Militao or Alaba may still win back their place as starters and Tchou might still become the best CB out of all of these guys.

Are we assuming that Nacho is staying since he said nothing?
The few reporters that talk to Alaba's people say it doesn't sound great.

So if there is no Nacho, and if Alaba is out a few months, they are sort of short handed without Yoro. Tchouameni may have to play CB for a bit next year again. I actually think Tchouameni could be a very good CB, but he clearly wants to play in the midfield.

He bought another house in Madrid? How many does he need?

I think that’s the house next to SR that was reported earlier. Kroos lives there as well as I recall, maybe Modric too?

He is leaving probably. Not so sad about Nacho as about Kroos.Hope Modric stays as a rotation player and teaches young talents Guler and Paz a thing or two.Would be nice to have a player like Guti in his prime instead of Ceballos.I was never impressed with Ceballos.

He has enough money to buy many many houses. For him, buying a house as equivalent to an ordinary person purchasing a pair of shoes. How many shoes do you have?

With his salary and signing on bonus, he could probably buy an entire town.

Doesn't he always like his family nearby? Probably just buying them houses too.
