How awesome is it that we just got a shutout on the road, it's three straight wins on the road, we scored eight goals, and it's only the appetizer?
Well the pre-CCC run in went almost as well as it could have. 3 consecutive wins, on the road, each by 2 goals. Everyone appears to be healthy except for Cucho, who has had 3 weeks off to heal up. Not much help from other games. Still, up to 4th in the east. T5th overall on PPG.
Thought Rossi, Morris, Matan, Yeboah, Schulte, and Cheberko were all excellent. Got a bit of late night help from Colorado drawing Minny. Vancouver down 0-2 to Miami.
What would have happened say if there would have been a straight red for a violent tackle on the Crew? Would the red card not count since there was an earlier penalty per the VAR review?
A red card infraction is somewhat unique in that it doesn't require the ball to be live for it to be called. If you spit on someone or use abusive language it doesn't matter if it's during a timeout or if it happens in the tunnel.or whatever. It's always a violation and it can always be called. So violence is always violence and the referee can and will call it regardless of the game situation. Just my opinion.
He’s come alive since Cucho hasn’t been on the field. I thought the reason Rossi was signed was that he “fit the system” better than Zelarayan…
FotMob is saying 21,726. Judging by what I saw on there broadcast, there were way more than 4k empty seats. I hate to see fanbases whither away, but it is somewhat satisfying to see expansion sides deal with the difficult reality that every OG team dealt with once the newness wears off. That time eventually comes for all of them. Portland hardly ever sells out anymore. Seattle’s crowds are regularly about 10k less than what they were just a few years ago. Atlanta still announces big numbers but apparently has about 10k no shows every game. On the flip side you have NE who are continuously getting huge crowds despite their horrible play and horrible stadium. Their last four games they’ve announced 25k, 35k, 65k (Messi), and 22k. Good for them. They also had almost 30k for the first home game of the season.
One wonders if that is because on any good team there's a tendency to go though the best player. We had that issue with GBS later in his career. He had lots more goals in 2009 over 2008, to be sure. But far less assists. Mind you, I think Nancy has brought great balance to this team, which eases the issue quite a bit.
