There was nothing he could’ve done different on the header. The blunder, it happens. Every top goalie has had that. But fortunately, Villa were able to claw back and manage a tie.

Well, yes, if we ignore his 3000 misses during regular play then sure, Lautaro had such a clutch world cup :ROFLMAO:

So, apparently Barco played well v Chelsea. I did not see the match but the Brighton fans were raving about him. Since we do have 26 players now, I do wonder if Scaloni will take him since we are so thin in tha position. Or does he take somebody with a bit more experience?I guess we will have to wait and see…

I swear, I think playing these Central American teams is like our punching bag. We'd probably get more competition out of playing the U23s.

One of the rumors is that Scaloni is debating between taking Equi or Guido to the CA. I’d take Equi because he is a bit more dynamic and can do what Guido does and some. Plus, Guido has literally won everything. So, him being left out won’t be such a massive blow. It’s time to bleed in new guys.

Plus, I think Equi plays on the edge, like a Cuti. Players will have a bit to think about after they get a taste of his first tackle. I think having him come in to help close out a game would be nice. Earlier this year, he’s been linked to some big clubs in Europe. So, let’s see what happens.

He can always stay at home and manage a club in Argentina when he's had enough. The players too.

Let Guido go and keep Equi for the olympic team. Neither would play a single minute in the Copa anyway.

Perhaps but I thought Varela was going to go to the Olympics and could occupy a similar area. I know Porto will probably try to veto that so who knows.Maybe they both go?

But I do recall Guido playing quite a bit during the CA in 2021. If either Guido or Equi are called, I'd expect they'd get some minutes of action.

You never know if somebody like Paredes picks up too many cards or if the teams needs to clamp down a bit and go a bit more defensive. I think you need that type of player in the squad.

Gio, Mac, Enzo, Palacios, RDP and Paredes, are all commitment midfielders but the only player that is a bit more defensive than offensive is Leandro. I think it is important to have somebody that can help with the defense when needed.

Its going to be interesting to see how Scaloni lines up. If everything holds as is... He did not have this issue with having all his midfielders ready for the tournament. Enzo was not at the CA, Gio missed out on the World Cup.

All players unscathed. Although Mac Allister was lucky not to get injured after a shameful tackle from Semedo. He is now being linked to Real Madrid presumably as a Modric like for like replacement.

Hope he stays at Liverpool. Barco and Alvarez will be well rested for the Copa/Olympics. Slightly concerned with some of the others. It's a physically very demanding league. Mac Allister for instance has been showing signs of fatigue lately.

Just Garnacho, Alvarez and Licha left to see if they come through next weeks Cup final.

Equi should definitely be going to the Copa ahead of Guido. Far more dynamic albeit with less experience at that level but the same applies to Mac and Enzo when they debuted. So Equi all the way.

I did not watch the match between City and United but I heard Licha was very good. Sometimes you forget a player because he's been out for so long. But if can stay healthy, we could have two top-class(to World Class) CBs holding down the anchor for the seleccion for many years to come.

Great performance from Licha and Pep had strong praise for him.

Needs to be a starter after Copa 24.

Garnacho has that x factor, I mean he's inconsistent but his pace and ability to run in behind teams is something that could be very useful if you bring him on as a sub with 20/30 mins to go in a match. Can't wait for the Copa to begin, feeling confident, that's probably the kiss of death :D:D

Like ADM, he's also busy tracking back and trying to win the ball.

Dybala may leave Roma. Personally, it would be best for him to stick around. Barcelona and a couple EPL sides are interested. I can understand playing in Spain but the EPL would not be exactly ideal for him, IMO.

But if he does leave, Roma want to bring him Soulé. Again, a good move, IMO. A side that should compete for a European spot and a place where he can continue to grow. Juve want big money for him. It could cost 30+ME but I think they can get him closer to the low 20s. Juve may just begin to sell of players since it is rumored Motta does not fancy Chiesa. So, they could have money from that sale and so won’t haggle for an extra 5-7 mill for Soulé’s services.

I’m going to be really interested seeing how Mati progresses next season.

Soule should try to move to Inter if he can.
