Who: Your local franchisee football club - DC United. Go talons? What: Soccer Night in DC Where: Audi AF When: Saturday March 25th 2024, 7:39PM KO Why: eh....not sure...scheduled match or something How: the fire suck...that's how.
Goff reporting Rodriguez (concussion) and Santos (hip) are out along with Antley and Canouse. Only 18 will dress on Saturday. Thanks to Dumpster Diving Dave and unfortunate injuries, DCU will play 2/3 of its season with less than a full roster.
Seems this post could apply to any of the last ten or fifteen years. Please go away Dave Kasper, I hear retirement is pretty sweet.
We better not stink up the joint. It is the Fire, who haven't been good in a long time. We aren't great and are at home but we should at least be able to eke out a draw...
Chicago and DC are the Spider-Man meme. I think they’ve made the playoffs once in the last 8 seasons, a first round loss. In a league where more than 50% of the teams make the playoffs, that’s pathetic.
I've got a beautiful Ribeye steak ready to grill and I'm already into a bottle of wine. Which basically means I hope for a win, but I'm going to have a pretty decent evening regardless.
This should be 3 points at home against one of the worst teams in the league. We have been decent so far and for some reason I think we may end up being a good team by the end of the year. Of course I didn't see the Red Bulls disaster, so I'll pretend that didn't happen.
This has the makings of another one of those games where Benteke gets held, pushed and generally beat up with no intent to play the ball and no fouls called.
Hopkins’ technique on that long shot was terrible. He needs to be coached up on that. Maybe his long shot will still suck, but at least it won’t be ugly and hopeless.
I prefer Peltola over Hopkins if we are going to be the team on the front foot. He's much better on the ball.
Good half, controlled the game for the most part. Probably should be up 2. Some pretty build up but still missing the killer pass in the final third. Stroud and Hopkins both botched simple passes on 4 on 3 fast breaks.
Halftime team talk Keep doing what you’re doing Klich is feeling it today; run everything through him Klich, see if you can make those passes from 10 yards further upfield, so the receiver is a shot threat
Ugh 1-1. Nice play from Chicago but seemed like we should have been able to block that shot from Acosta.
Our precision in the last 25 yards is flat out poor. Up to then it ranges from competent to good, but this team seems to really lack composure. Passes keep being missed or misses.
