Maybe his best one with us.
I felt he had made his decision as soon as he decided to go back to his national team. There are similarities with Zidane's path. My pattern recognition skills were excited haha. Zidane also came back to his national team a few months before his final tournament. He also retired relatively early and at his best level.

Zidane trained aggressively for the month between the end of the season and the start of the WC. He got into shape and looked absolutely fantastic in that tournament. I remember watching the Brazil v France match and being amazed how he was single-handedly controlling the game. Arguably the best 90 min performance I’ve seen at such a big stakes match.

I was referring to his Real Madrid performances. He still could put it together for a short WC tourney. This also applied to some of the other galacticos at the end. They just couldn't do it over the entire season.
