    Silly season has begun!

But yeah being a lock starter for a full season at Betis next year seems like the right call here.

I suppose if a big money offer comes you have to look at it, but I'm skeptical one will be forthcoming this summer.

I think the big offers will come but not sure if Betis will accept.

Emre Can has to be a little tired by now. Johnny could fill that spot.

I don't necessarily think he needs to move on from Betis yet... another year there as an integral starter would make him a very hot commodity. But I agree that BVB could be a very good landing spot. They will be in the CL and I think they could really use him.

I threw out the proposition before that Internacional may actually get more from the sell on fee on his next move than they got for his full transfer to Betis. I think 30M puts them right about there, haha.

    I wonder how often that's happened for a non-striker?

2-0 win for Betis aided by an early red card on a boot to the head in front of goal. Happily, not Johnny's head. Johnny was pretty solid, and played the first 74 minutes. Not a ton of touches for a holding midfielder. Sitting just two points behind Sociedad for the last European spot at the moment...

AC Milan could use him more. Dortmund is an up and down the pitch type of team. Johnny's technical ability would be better employed in Italy, imo. He would be more goal dangerous than Cheeks who is injured a lot anyway. He can play the 6 or as an 8 who can find goal opportunities

Seems like Johnny Soccer had a pretty solid match - 60 minutes with 90% passing and a chance created in a 3-2 win over Almeria.

Looks like Cardoso got subbed in early (20th min) and is playing now. Match on ESPN+. Betis up 1-0 (own goal, just after Johnny came in - he had no role with the goal).

Guido went out with a muscle injury. No difference from what things will be like next season.

It was ho-hum from a personal perspective for Johnny again (cue sarcasm...). Tied for second on his team w/ a 7.2 fotmob score in his sub appearance. The guy has has received a fotmob score of 7.2 or higher in 13 of 15 La Liga matches.... and 4 of those were 8.2 or higher. Pretty sic.....

... but... it was a huge missed opportunity for the team to reach Europe next season.... as they could only earn a draw against Las Palmas (2-2). Later on Real Sociedad won their match to pull ahead into 6th place. The two teams face off against each other next week in a must-win for Betis as Real Sociedad currently holds a 1 point lead. Last game of the season is against Real Madrid.... so not looking great. Especially considering that Isco came out injured. If he can't go then Betis may be ****ed.

EDIT* Just noticed that xbhaskarx posted on the US Youth Boards that Johnny has been nominated for La Liga Young Player of the Year in 23/24. Remarkable for a winter transfer IMO:

    https://www.laliga.com/en-GB/news/l...remony-with-kafd-globe-soccer-european-awards

"Next, the LALIGA Award for Best U23 Player will be given to one of the following 10 talented youngsters: Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona), Javi Guerra (Valencia CF), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Couto (Girona FC), Savinho (Girona FC), Johnny (Real Betis), Cubarsí (FC Barcelona), M. Gutiérrez (Girona FC), Nico Williams (Athletic Club) and Kubo (Real Sociedad). The Award is brought to you by Sorare, a LALIGA sponsor. There are 8 nominees for the LALIGA Goal of the Year Award: Depay (Atlético de Madrid), Cancelo (FC Barcelona), Coco (UD Las Palmas), Ruibal (Real Betis), Areso (CA Osasuna), Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid), Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona), João Félix (FC Barcelona)."

Really hoping he performs well in the season finale.... his last start was his poorest of the season. Time to finish out strong heading into the Intl Window. <fingers-crossed>

Could've had his 2nd goal but a Betis player was offside on the play.

    Good 1st half for Johnny.

Final score 0 - 0. Good game by Johnny. Betis had 2 goals called offside.

I know adam is captain but how can you not start this man. Against Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, we should have two dm . Hopefully we get to see him at least 2 games (start) in copa.
