An emotional Toni Kroos with his family after his last game at Santiago Bernabeu. 🥲🤍 pic.twitter.com/N7GekcUr2e— TC (@totalcristiano) May 25, 2024 1794470579653034409 is not a valid tweet id
Watching the match here with my 70-year-old mom and dad, our cat and dog, got extremely emotional. The good side of football is still so good.
The ultimate professional. I wish more of our legends would have went out the way Toni did. Perez, Carlo and the Bernabeu has to mean a lot to him finding a home and family away from home.
I cant remember when we had such emotional farewell to a legend...none of legends which i remember retired at Real Madrid...even Zidane i think announced his retirement after World Cup
An absolute legend of the game, and a massive, massive loss to us. This one hurts, as he’s been outstanding for almost 10 years for us and this season has been one of his best. Let’s go and win the 15th now, what a way that would be to end his career.
Zidane retired abruptly with 1-2 years left on his contract right before the end of the season. He said the WC would be his last games when he made the announcement.
That's what did it for me too. Family, health, respect of his peers, talent, fame, success, wealth... a truly blessed man. He deserves it all.
there’s a whole video from that day with his family. It’s hard not get teary watching his sons, wife and father and brother crying when he gets subbed out. Still gets me when I rewatch it.

I find it a bit of a shocker because this year has been one of his best years. Don't remember any player recently retiring after basically their best season.
There's a documentary that covered ZZ's entire farewell match. I saw it back in the day. This is a part of it.
ZZ was a bit up and down towards the end. He still had flashes of brilliance but was no longer consistent. Kroos has been very consistent this year.
nope. That’s Zidane a 21st century portrait. The film with 50 cameras on him and a mogwai soundtrack. Not the final game
