Not sure about the veracity of this account, but might as well log the entry: Agent MLS @AgenttMLS I have some news about some young players. My sources are reliable if you want to believe it or not is your decision. A thread: There were three players training with European clubs: First. Noel Buck will go permanently to Tottenham, he has an English passport (there's no issue). Noel Buck New England Revolution Date of birth/Age: Apr 5, 2005 (17) Place of birth: Arlington, Mass. Citizenship: United States England Height: 1,80 m Position: Central Midfield TM page: https://www.transfermarkt.us/noel-buck/profil/spieler/882657 Revs profile: https://www.mlssoccer.com/players/noel-buck/ This contradicts some of the tweet: Tom reports that there were talks regarding Noel Buck training with Tottenham but nothing materialized #NERevs #COYS https://t.co/7W3JkBl89p pic.twitter.com/gLp8o0Y53E— Sam Minton (@Sam_Minton22) December 16, 2022
Seems unlikely that a brand new Twitter account has exclusive information on all these transfers. Seems like this guy is just linking top MLS youngsters with random teams. But I’m pretty starved for soccer news right now, so why not.
True. He did acknowledge that his info was going to appear sketchy. At least it's better than that group of Twitter accounts last year that was posting all these high-profile, big dollar US transfers to try to get traction. These are all players that are young and likely generating rumors anyway. Just getting ahead of the curve.
Buck confirms there was Tottenham interest: https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/vi...hing-performance-in-charlotte-it-was-one-game Could leave when he turns 18: Another notable factor here: Buck, and for that matter his also-talented older brother Joseph, have British heritage and thus would seem to have a direct line to work eligibility in the United Kingdom. One source with knowledge of the situation told MLSsoccer.com that Noel could cross the pond via transfer as early as this summer, after he turns 18 in April. All of which adds up to the first few months of the season being key for both him and the Revs. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/the-next-mls-homegrown-star-breakout-candidates-for-2023
Even if he he gets sold this summer, or whenever he gets sold, he'll finish the season in NE. I doubt he'd leave midseason. I know Turner did (but the Revs prepped for Turner leaving) but I'd imagine this would be more like a Buchanan sale
Updated Euro interest: Latest I'm hearing on New England Revolution, England youth int'l Noel Buck:🏴 Teams w/ interest include Arsenal, Burnley, Man City. Bundesliga teams too💰 Would expect $5-8m range at least🗓️ Winter move? Summer? 1 more year?Full 22 Under 22 reaction show on MLS Season Pass pic.twitter.com/0lCnuFIRCU— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) October 12, 2023
Fingers crossed for Bundesliga where he’d get more playing time. Would have expected a larger fee for him but if it means he’s an instant sub for some Bundesliga teams instead of being priced out it’s a good move.
He's only done well for one season in MLS, and even then it's been diminishing returns. If he wants a double-digit fee and to ever incentivize an EPL club (good chance that's where he'll go due to nationality) to play him, he needs to come back to MLS, back it up, and sustain it for a season. That's all the while he either is a standout for English youth teams or the US seniors.
Despite his relegation to the bench for an underwhelming NE Revolution team, Noah Buck is getting some European Interest. The Athletic is reporting that clubs in Belgium and Germany are interested. Club Brugge was very interested last year, but the reported price tag of 7 million was too high. I imagine that it would be much lower now,
