That will probably change I'd think. This is the provisional squad which eventually will be pared down to 26 I think.
Copa should be great. USA playing Uruguay, then either Brazil or Colombia in the knockouts. Gonna be a great test of this squad... hopefully they're healthy enough to put their best foot forward.
LOL, that Germany away jersey might provide some fun…. My 15 yo son, is a Germany fan (wife is German, and has brainwashed him). Will be interesting to know if he’d wear that if I bought it for him…
I only have 1 request. England get knocked out in the groups!! Oh actually 2. No Liverpool player picks up any serious injuries!!!!
Some stats on Kent and his “Younger” rivals. Got to question some, like Whartons. He get the ‘green’ for long passing accuracy with only 2 passes. Odd set of stats. It doesn’t mention goals or assists.
Netherlands captain Van Dijk heads up a trio of Reds players selected by Dutch boss Ronald Koeman, alongside midfielder Ryan Gravenberch and striker Cody Gakpo.
He blocked me but as I understand it (and we discussed this several years ago), many (most?) in Liverpool have associated the national team with the central England government, which they've hated since (at least) the Thatcher era. Did I get that right?
You do know that's like a crime in Liverpool. Plus I suppose for those that don't live/never lived in England, they're not surrounded by the media we have here.....which basically states every tournament that it's Englands to lose despite never doing jack shit. We set ourselves up to be freely mocked as a nation when it comes to football so over the years I've not only learned to detach myself but to now wanting them to crash out at every presentable opportunity.
I'd say you've got the jist of it. Then there's other things like being fed up with listening to all the pre-hype bullshit, fed up with our players always returning crocked from friendlies, having to tolerate decades of shit negative football under complete bores like Mcclaren, Southgate and Hodgson.
Usscouse was born and raised in Liverpool - so I'm sure he understands the sentiment. but yes - all I ever understood was that most liverpudlians hate or don't care for the national team apart from hoping Liverpool players do well. And lately - stay healthy - as noted.
It's more fun when they have reached a QF and think they are going to win it- and the football's coming home songs have started!!. However with Foden, Kane, bellingham and the somewhat (as an every game WC player) overrated Saka - if they get the DM part right they will be hard to beat. I kinda fancy Portugal - just not too sure about whether they have any kind of good enough central defence pairing likely
