Ended 3-3 AET. Celtic won 6-5 in PKs (no CCV - still suffering PTSD from his critical missed PK at the U20 WC). Joe Hart tried to be the hero and took the 5th PK to secure the win. He hit the post instead. Eventually did save the final Aberdeen PK to move to the finals.
CCV played the whole match and got the shutout, 3-0 over Hearts. They are back in control of the title race, going into the crucial Rangers match on May 11 that could prove decisive. Up six points by Rangers have a match in hand, playing tomorrow vs Kilmarnock. Has a chance to lift the second-biggest YA trophy of the season.
Rangers clawed back the 3 pts v. Killie, so Saturday is the big day. Celtic v. Gers at home. If CCV and co win, it will take a pretty big stumble on their part in the last two to let Gers hoist the silverware (Celtic have a 5 GD advantage atm). If, on the other hand, they don't get at least a point at Celtic Park, it becomes quite a race in the last 2 matches (tho Gers have looked a number of times like they can't win when they really need to, and Celtic have to be favorites even if they lose to Gers. (And there's a cup final waiting between the two clubs as well.)
I remember Matt Reis being money in PK shootouts. He took great pens. He was asked about it and said keepers got lots of practice taking PKs against the other keepers. My point is, keepers really should be among a club’s better PK takers.
And Celtic win. A match sure to go down in the history of the rivalry- Rangers gave up an OG and went down a man in first half stoppage. Yet Celtic “only” won 2-1.
Interest in him from Turkey: There is continued interest from several Turkish Super Lig clubs in #USMNT defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, sources say. However, Carter-Vickers is happy with Celtic and has no plans in making a move anytime soon. would prefer (selfishly) not to see him in Turkey - so it is easier for us to see his matches. Why could he not end up in Italy or Germany?
Celtic have a chance to clinch the title watching TV today if Rangers fail to beat Dundee ... and Dundee took a 2-0 first half lead...
Rangers decide to make CCV and Hoops work for it, winning 5-2. But if Celtic get all any points v Killie tomorrow it's all over as Celtic's GD is better. Gers gave them a bit of a run, but couldn't hold it together. After last week it'd be an epic collapse if Celtic and CCV don't take home the league.
I imagine CCV would only move to a decent opportunity with a PL team. He would know what that is as he's played for championship sides and is pretty happy where he is. No guarantees he get minutes if he moves up anywhere.

CCV starting the Scottish Cup Final as they go for the double. Shockingly, their opponent is Rangers.
True but he's played his whole life in GB. Do you think he'd be interested to move now when he never did when he was younger? Maybe. Maybe even MLS if a good offer came in but he seems to be where he wants.
Why would he have moved when he was younger? He was under a Spurs contract until somewhat recently when he finally got a contract with a team that wanted to play him. I’m sure he has ambitions to play at a higher level than Scotland and could see him doing well in Germany or france.

How ya gonna keep down on the farm once they've seen translucent-skinned 15 year olds barfing their guts in the Govan? Maybe Post brings him back!
I mean, the opportunity of making good coin in a pretty nice city while being an anchor on the biggest team in the land and having a shot at legend status doesn't present itself all too often. IMO better this situation than some of the backwaters he found himself in in England
Wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed. wouldn’t be surprised if he left. Plays at a big historic club making lower end EPL wages probably and gets an opportunity at European football every year. Not sure he makes much more money on the continent. But maybe he has personal ambitions to test himself at a higher level idk. But plenty of dudes make a nice career sticking around at Celtic or Rangers. Then again, some move on. Who knows. Don’t consider it an obvious one.
