FA Cup Final starts in a little while. Turns out it is on ESPN+.

Sadly it will be a Manchester derby, with the blue-assholes running roughshod over the red-losers in the all EPL (which sucks) match up.

City are trying for a domestic double of league and Cup, stealing the 1998 Chicago Fire playbook.

Well, City are shooting for a second successive double, which the Fire did not achieve.

1 minute in and Man City already whinging for a penalty.
Like they need help from the ref to beat a fairly poor Man U squad.

30th minute and Manchester is ahead after a terrible Manchester defensive error.

I will leave you all in suspense about which Manchester team f'd up and which scored.

Manchester scored again, but ruled offsides.

    And, again. No offsides now.

    2-0 Manchester v. Manchester (should be 3-0)

    Halftime.

Yes, and 10 minutes to go.

Manchester are winning and holding tough.
Manchester are losing and looking desperate. They seem to have no answers.

Watching this match reminds me how important team spirit is. Man U has it this match and Man City has less. Hope the right Fire people are watching.

Out of nowhere Manchester scores, to make a game out of it.
    2-1 Manchester.

    3 minutes plus jury time.

I wish Fire supporters and fans were paying attention. They’ve been every bit an anchor for many seasons.

Shoildn’t be much more than 3 of extra time.

EDIT: Seven seems excessive. One minor injury and one Man City goal where no time was wasted.

You and I may have a difference of opinion regarding cause-and-effect. I believe the team’s performance on the field determines crowd enthusiasm while you apparently believe crowd enthusiasm determines performance. Neither is completely true, but is it 90-10 or 10-90?
There should be no question that poor performance for an extended period of time reduces fan support.

    Manchester beats Manchester! Surprise ending....

Celtic beats Rangers with a last minute goal 1-0.

Yes, and a lone fan can make a difference, too.

Pretty clearly a winning team can excite a docile fan base fairly quickly but a caustic and negative environment can bring down players, too. Marcus Rashford this season is an example. Kacper Przybylko was another example. Overall we do have an impact that stretches to the technical side and FO. It would be good for people to learn that, that’s all.

I'm all in this EFL final. Just ate a plate of bacon, 1 egg and 2 buckwheat pancakes with real Maple syrup. No one wants to talk about it but one of the good things about being an empty nester is a person can buy the REAL maple syrup and not waste it on the kids using the whole jug on one pancake. Those were like $17 a flap jack.

    Southampton with the first goal.

    Boo.

Not sure why I root for Leeds, but I do.

I don't eat pancakes/flap jacks often (just too heavy), but your post inspired me
I am making blueberry waffles this morning.

Of course, it will be with real maple syrup. The previous owners of my property said he used to tap the maple trees in my back maple forest back in the day.

My local soccer pub is owned by a Leeds fan. They put on any game in any league and the owner bends over backwards to find whatever you want to watch, even non-soccer Euro sports. But one day he had a neo-Nazi in there advertising his beliefs and the owner promised me he would ban the guy. A friend had organized a watch party for the USWNT and the crowd was very diverse to say the least and the Nazi was back. It was very disappointing.

    Now I root against Leeds.
