There's talk of a Barca swap for Kvara. I don't see it. They don't have money to afford him. Agreed with JG about him. DeLa already extended Meret, but he could still get sold. Caprile ready for the step up? He's very young. Maybe one more season of Meret, but he seems to be on his way out. I'm open to selling everyone. Players have to want to be here.
Caprile seems to be having a good season. 19 starts, 1.2 GAA, 3.6 saves per game. I hope Meret finds a good destination in any case. He's still young for a goalkeeper (only 27), and he should have a good career ahead of him somewhere.
Meret will want European football next season. Important for Italy consideration. Juve? Guintoli might try to make a move for him, but di Gregorio looks more likely. Inter have to replace Sommer, too, sooner than later, but Inter are cheap and try to avoid transfer fees. Maybe next summer he'll have more options. Barca swap would more likely involve someone like Lenglet. Agreed a number of Barca players are too expensive. It's why Barca wants to get rid of them. If we get a good offer for Kvara, we must sell him. He, like most of our players, doesn't want to be here.
Di Marzio is saying that soon PSG want to begin talks on Osi, but in the meantime Chelsea already reached out to Napoli to see if they’re interested in a cash + players deal. Player mentioned was Lukaku
Too many rumours surrounding the team right now. They’re saying half the players are completely checked out and just waiting for the season to be over so they can transfer somewhere else. Training sessions reduced to small scrimmages between players
We're going to need an oncology surgeon for our roster to have any chance at Europe spots next season.
https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/napoli-gasperini-conte-pioli-italiano-allenatore-news-16-maggio-2024 Di Marzio of Sky says Gasperini is first choice and was approached yesterday. Foolish of Gasp to leave Atalanta for Napoli.
Foolish of Napoli to take him. Just a better Mazzarri. We wont replace half our team, so we need a manager that contributes to the players' abilities. Garcia, Mazzari and Calzona are not managers that focus on setting a team up from an attack minded approach (or they lack the ability to), that is what I believe Napoli need. In fact Calzona only focused on the defence under Sarri, a defensive system that often let us down from achieving our goal. Whoever it is can ADL just try a manager with a positive approach to football? Even if mostly risky picks are available from this poll. I dont see this Napoli team succeeding playing a 5 (or3) backline. Our CBs and midfielders don't suit it imo.
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5502835/2024/05/18/manchester-united-mason-greenwood-napoli/ Would be a huge signing. Greenwood is a top prospect. It would be funny seeing him with that red paint on his face tho.
CdS is saying Napoli is interested in Artem Dovbyk from Girona. Apparently he has a release clause for 40m. With no Europe next year, it will be difficult to be in the conversation for most of the top forwards. Of course, it would also help to have a DS...
Rapist and wife beater. We tend to prefer coke heads and whoremongers. We'll make an exception for him. I can't say I'm too fond of him. Big, strong, can take great pens (which we can't), but looks like a Haaland wannabe without the concentration to do it. In Spain, he can dominate only because the quality of the league is on par with Scotland (except for Real, Atletico, and Barca). In Italy, if he finds form, he'll have 2 defenders on him minimum and fall to pieces (like Kvara and Osi, and he's not nearly as talented as those two).
La Liga outside the top 3 is not a great league. This is because Barca and Real hog all the money. It's not like the other leagues where the money is split better. https://worldsoccertalk.com/tv/how-...premier-league-money-20221230-WST-413859.html
Di Lorenzo has reportedly put in his transfer request. Another rumour is the Chelsea have proposed Lukaku, Casadei + cash for Osimhen
My theory is that once it was revealed that there is a possibility of Napoli landing Lukaku, Conte came back to the negotiating table. The papers report that he also wants Musah from Milan and Dorgu from Lecce
Di Lorenzo handing in his transfer request is a confirmed story. Both Inter and Juve are said to be interested. I think I can see him comfortably in Juve under Motta than Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 at Inter.
