I keep getting the "your image is too large" error, but I've verified numerous times it's not more than 9.6kb, and I've even taken it down to 1kb. No dice.
When I try to post a pic or a meme, I often get “the image is too large.” Haven’t had that happen with an avatar pic. Keep trying, my friend.
It *may* go back to when people could pay for premium features. At some point, the admins did away with that option, but some remnants seem to exist. It's just my guess.
FIFA and Apple prove it's all about the money with plans for a new 32-team tournament. You knew they weren't gonna keep their "Tournament before the World Cup" thing away for too long, right? https://www.reuters.com/business/me...rights-new-tournament-nyt-reports-2024-04-22/ "Usually, no major events are scheduled during this period in order to allow players to rest in the off-season a year before the World Cup," The Confederations Cup says hi, laughs or reacts as appropriate.
Well of course the whole thing is an outrage to begin with. The "Club World Cup" is nothing but a blatant grab at all that lovely money that leagues and private enterprise normally pockets. FIFA 's reason for being is to organize competitions between federations, not clubs. The problem is that they need more and more money to keep all those soccer administrators in countries that are net takers, and who contribute nothing, in enough limos and swanky offices and first class travel to keep them in line, ie voting for Gianni Infantino as the poobah of world soccer. They couldn't come up with any more stupid and pointless ways to demand the services of the world's best players, all of whom are located, developed and compensated by clubs, so they've decided to invent a way to horn in on the clubs turf. So now they're trying to hold up Apple for billions of dollars, and for what? "For soccer development"? Horse crap. It's to line the pockets of the people who run soccer in Papua New Gunea, Anguilla and Outer Mongolia. A pox on all their houses.
So she says she's going to the garden center to look for a tree or shrub or whatever, do I want to come along. Is there a right answer to this question? By which I mean an answer I won't suffer for?
I flew out of CMH today and noticed 4 different people wearing some form of Crew gear. I wasn't even wearing any Crew gear, and I follow the team far more closely than 95% of people in Columbus. I used to go a full month around the city and maybe see a total of 4 people wearing Crew gear. Crazy how much things have changed.
I figure there have been much better places to post this but I looked a bit and then lost patience so screw it: All of the remaining rounds of the US Open Cup will be broadcast on AppleTV+. I think this is huge, not so much as a big follower of the LHUSSOC but because it shows a willingness between USSF and Apple to maybe get it together.
Is that called "USSF misses MLS in the USOC?" Tell me how it isn't. How many USL teams are left vs how many MLS/MLSNP teams?
I haven’t paid one second of attention, and neither have 99% of the people losing their shit in the offseason about the USOC/MLS drama.
Exactly. If they cared, why can't we get 10k to USOC matches? Then you have people who are absolutely outraged who can't even be bothered to show up to any Crew game.
In the Copa next month, referees will carry a pink card, to be used when a player has sustained a suspected concussion. Said player must leave the field, go to the locker room and is barred from returning. As per the current rule he may be subbed without affecting the 5 substitute limit.
Just walked out of Kroger (Main St., Reynoldsburg) with a Crew jersey on, and I walked past a guy with the Inaugural Stadium jersey on. Then, outside, a complete stranger flagged me down to ask me about the team. He wasn't really a fan, per se, but he "had heard" that they were in a Final for some big tournament, and I gave him the jist of it. Times, they are a-changin'.
Steve Sirk is doing a meet and greet. Saturday, June 08 1:00pm - 2:30pm Add to Calendar Main Library -- Downtown Columbus Auditorium, Meeting Room 3A
Friday 7/12 3-8pm McFerson Commons aka Arch Park There's a "Summer of Soccer" bash hosted by the Crew. More details coming.
It's a partial reading and he's discussing his book. There's 12 of us listening. He's telling the story of the airport McDonald's following the failed vote. "So we're not moving?" "Why in the world would we do that?" -- Lamar Hunt He was talking about Tom Bogert talking about how the Crew is the most watchable team in the league and FCC fans absolutely lost their minds: "We're the best team! We have the best record!" Sirk then said how a random fan would want to watch a random game and Crew games are just FUN to watch and how FCC fans can't grasp that fact.
