Don't think that's an unfair decision personally. He's by no means done a bad job there but that squad is top and should have got a fair few more points imo.
Not sure it’s better than the squads above them in the league (apart from Ipswich), I’d of thought theyd be right in contention for promotion next season.
I think it's a fair bit better than West Brom's. A manager like Corberan, who can make a team greater than the sum of its parts, is probably what they're after, which I'm not sure Rosenior is. They'll probably lose Philogene and Greaves in the summer while Carvalho, Delap and Morton are only loan players. They'll probably be notably weaker next season.
I think this is harsh. Hull were in the basement last season, it wasn't realistic expectation to definitely reach the top 6. West Brom had some useful players at this level, maybe not that fashionable names, but hardened, experienced players who have played in the Premier League. Also they had some Championship stars like Jed Wallace, John Swift or Grady Diangana. Ilicali didn't invest that much in that squad, and you can't get into the Premier League with only loan players. Anyway, we're talking about the same owner who fired Grant McCann, who brought them up, and appointed the clueless Shota Arveladze in his place. I guess some fancy coach from the Azeri league or Kazakhstan will come again.
I think it was personally. The squad they've finished with is very, very good. In Carvalho and Philogene they've ended up with two genuine needle movers at that level in attack which not many teams can match. Morton and Seri are quite far ahead of Yokuslu and Mowatt as a midfield pairing for me too. The two defences are comparable but I think Greaves is the best centre half of the bunch, but Palmer is a better keeper than Allsop. I think Hull's bench is quite a lot more stacked than Albion's too though. Teams have also gone up with a lot of loan players quite a lot in the past. Just last year Burnley had plenty. I definitely don't doubt it's harsh, it is. But I think it's a decision in line with what Bournemouth did with O'Neil and Southampton with Adkins back in the day. Harsh, but hard to begrudge teams with big aspirations wanting to level up. They now of course have to nail the next managerial appointment or else it'll look like a poor decision. They can easily be Birmingham rather than Bournemouth here if they're not careful.
Should Sean Dyche be the next Manchester United manager? Martin Tyler certainly believes he should be considered! 👀⬇️ https://t.co/qA4gZPjVmj pic.twitter.com/vSEdrQBgcv— The Joy of Football Podcast (@TheJOF) May 8, 2024

I know McKenna still has a lot to prove, but it's kind of interesting that over the last 15 years, the two UK managers of note without serious playing experience have both been from Northern Ireland, when - looking at demographics - you'd expect them to be from England. Could just be a coincidence, but I wonder if there is a culture of conformity among English football coaches which they as outsiders have been able to separate themselves from. In spite of the cultural change that has taken place over the last decade (particularly since Pep arrived on these shores), we still haven't really seen any genuinely innovative English managers come along. Potter, I suppose, is not far away from that mould, but he doesn't seem to be able to translate his ideas into much success on the pitch.
I suspect the coaching courses the FA set up are just not that good. There was some talk of it at the time when SGP was set up.
That may be true, but both Rodgers and McKenna seem to have cut their teeth in England (both having had their playing careers cut short while on the books of English clubs). I also think there's a massive element of being a self-starter and having the gumption to learn and adopt ideas from outside of your immediate surroundings. Rodgers, for example, is clearly a student of Spanish football.

Plymouth have been so well run in recent seasons this just looks a completely bizarre decision from the outside. He did an atrocious job with Birmingham last season, and he seems to have done poorly at DC United as well. Basically impossible he'd end up at championship level without his playing career based on his current managerial background. Not to write him off completely but its hard to understand the thought process on this one. Does look a bit odd mind you that their director of football Dewsnip who's from Merseyside has all 4 manager appointments since he's been there from Merseyside.

After Kompanys sudden rise from rags to riches ( in a managerial sense ) I’m looking forward to Sean Dyche going all out attacking , attractive football next season and landing the Barcelona job after he gets Everton relegated
Just seen Hull are appointing a guy who failed to get Hamburg promoted from the Bundesliga 2 and got sacked, should of stuck with Liam Rosenior
