Key is making the right move. Nothing worse than a promising player moving to a big club and not playing. Wharton and Rogers have both shown that Championship players can make an immediate impact at the next level.
Good chance to see Gray today in the biggest game of his young career so far. Harwood Bellis too. Interested to see how he does. I've posted this before but his stats (I know) show him to be the elite ball playing defender in the next 14 leagues. https://fbref.com/en/players/47327321/scout/365_m2/Taylor-Harwood-Bellis-Scouting-Report I still think he has senior team potential.
With Southampton winning promotion Harwood - Bellis will be with them - they have a Mandatory buy clause. Wonder if Archie Gray will get snapped up by a PL club.
Well with regarding Gray, I hope he gets moved into midfield next season otherwise if he continues at right back he might be converted to that position which would be a damn shame and a waste of his talent. If that’s at Leeds or elsewhere I don’t mind fwiw
Archie Gray will be at Leeds next season. He's just signed a new contract and he breathes that club. Think it will take more than this to see him leave. I really hope he doesn't end up as a permanent right back but I think there's a chance it happens. He needs a lot of fine tuning as a midfielder and there are massive questions over whether Farke and co can provide him with that kind of individual development. The outrageously basic in possession structure Farke uses combined with the fact Gray is surrounded by midfielders who struggle to progress the ball is not a great environment for him and it's really shown in a lot of his recent midfield performances. He's still so young and mouldable he needs the midfield repetitions sooner rather than later to make the most of his potential.
Archie Gray will play midfield for England, I guarantee it. The good news from today is that we won't have to watch another Daniel Farke international/Welsh Xl in the PL next year. All three clubs coming up from the Championship have first teams boasting a healthy contingent of English talent.
I hope so mate. It will help when Struijk comes back from injury and Ampadu can come back into midfield. He's a much more suitable partner for Gray.
Not necessarily, there are other players in demand, like Summerville or Rutter. Leeds don't have to sell all of their stars.
they do mate they are ********ed for next season if they don't sell, don't forget all the players they loaned out too will be back next season and they need to shift them as well
You've got it spot on here. Farke will not bring out the best in him with the way he sets up in possession and is limiting his strengths and abilities, along with other players. The whole tactical setup is way too negative, and the ability to look forward and commit line breaking passes has been coached out of the players with retaining position seen as key, especially noticeable compared to the start of the season. A progressive midfield of Gray and Ampadu should be the key foundations next season. Unfortunately it looks as if the board will back Farke for another year. Gray won't leave next season unless a ridiculous fee comes in, however if we don't get promoted next season it's a different story come this time next year. We do need to sell players next season however that £100 million is a false reported figure. The majority of loan players will be sold, Summerville will be off, high chance Gnonto will as well, but it's nowhere near as drastic as the media is making out.
From what I’ve heard I currently I believe so, although things can change. Personally I don’t believe he should be here come next season, this season was a failure with the team he had and the management of some of the players.
Yeah it's a real killer. I do get why the board went for Farke and it's obviously not impossible he takes you up next season but the amount of times you've been outplayed by teams with lesser players should ring alarm bells, even if they're games you've often won by sheer individual talent. I dread to think what his football might look like without Summerville. I think you'll be fine long-term under this ownership but there's no need to make it this complicated in the near-term.
Archie Gray and Leeds is just different and not really that comparable to most players' situations at clubs. He has deep, deep family ties to the club. I don't think there's a massive need for him to leave yet either. It's not like Leeds are a small time club either and much as people like to rip them, the club has huge potential and they now have a serious and competent ownership for the first time in decades. They obviously need to be playing in the PL but if/when that happens it'll be a pretty interesting project to follow imo.
If Archie Gray moves this summer, he can still become UEFA club-trained (in 3 years time) for the club he goes to, so worth a lot more to the big clubs if they move for him this window before the season starts.

I wonder if all these stories about Bayern going after English players are true or if its just way to promote the players.
I dunno but god help him if Kompany is his manager since he’s not exactly known for showing much faith in English talent. Probably end up dropping Kane at some point and definitely Dier.
Kompany isn't taking Craig Bellamy with him so maybe that anti-English stance of his will start to soften.
Having Craig Bellamy as your assistant doesn't show you are great judge of charater in the first place.
