People ask him how he puts his pants on? I bet nobody (voluntarily) asks him about taking his pants off!

I'm almost surprised that Trump is not promoting the recent downing of windmills in Iowa after the recent tornado outbreak. Think of the birds.

But accuracy isn't important. The important thing is to cast the net as far and wide as possible. Doesn't matter if you catch a lot of fish, the point is if you keep throwing nets out, you'll eventually catch something.

People can fact-check all they want, but the net is already cast and the fish are getting trapped. By the time they've proven it wrong, many more nets will have been cast catching even more fish.

They believe the ends justifies the means.

Dave quotes Garry Kasparov (I think) who described his experience with this in Russia back when Trump first started running for President - they're trying to annihilate the concept of truth. They want people to not be able to believe anything they read or see, and then some of the people give up and don't vote. I wish there were consequences for the truth-annihilators - maybe if they ran the risk of getting their asses beat for pushing bullshit like that, they'd be less likely to do it.

A quick search says Johnson has 2,000,000 IG followers. And he KNOWS he’s lying.

*A* Democratic failure is that beginning in, oh, March 2016, they should have just started branding Trump as a liar. “What is your response to this Trump remark.” “Well, what do you expect? He lies all the time.” Plant the seed knowing Trump will do all the heavy lifting of watering it and fertilizing it.

That whole movement does t understand “truth” as the concept is normally understood. Don’t fight in their turf. Trump, Benny Johnson, the whole MAGA cinematic universe is a collection of sociopathic liars.

Trump promised to pardon the Silk Road guy. He also has promised to pursue the death penalty for drug lords. Don’t try to make sense of this.

I saw the photos of the two guys who were at his Bronx rally.

A correct inference would be one not so easily debunked. IMO the correct answer is either that to him everything is transactional, or, it’s the difference between the rich man’s justice and everyone else’s justice. One of those two, not sure which, but both make a lot more sense.

I really don't know what you are talking about. The only thing that comes up is a couple of rappers indicted for murder. Not drug lords. I note this as you are a litteralist.

Now, bringing up those two rappers is in line with Trump trying to say he knows what it is like to be unfairly indicted, in an effort to somehow connect with the Black community.

    You do inferences? Since when?

Of course it's transactional. Everything to him is transactional. And it is transactional only to himself. But he's trying to play a line where he can say White drug dealers are okay, Black and brown drug dealers should be executed (remind anybody of a former Filipino leader?), but Blacks who are indicted for non-drug dealing things are his friends. In reality, those to Black rappers who appeared with Trump on stage were being used. He really doesn't give a shit about them, and would happily see them executed. Like he advertised for the Central Park 5.

So if it’s transactional it’s not racism. QED.

The rappers aren't just rappers - they are also under indictment for charges related to attempted murder. Trump loves criminals and he loves black people if they love him first. It's all related to why Trump has so many remoras who look forward to his reign. Trump-as-king will assign power based on loyalty and personal feelings where a good administrator will hire based on experience and skill. If you don't have skill that looks very inviting. There's no hard-and-fast rules in Trump world.

Trump's vigor against drug dealers is based on other aspects of their otherness, namely their being foreign. The fascist war against the "other" is always fluid and based on what is politically expedient at the time so you can't name one single criteria for othering that explains everything.

And Ross Ulbricht isn't just a high-tech drug kingpin. He paid people to kill other people.

    Jesus.

It's transactional and the damn transaction is between him and the racist White people he needs to vote him into office. Nutter... it matters not whether he himself is racist, nor does it matter that it is also an "othering", @spejic it's an othering of POCs and therefore pleases racists. The actual word "racism" is unnecessary. We'll all get the implication.
