England U-20 (Elite Squad) Discussions Thread

Great to see Alves and Braybrooke back on the international stage after their recoveries. Ben Nelson had a bit of a breakthrough season too

 

How've Alves and Baybrooke looked since coming back?

 

Alves had either a goal or assist in pretty much every U21 game he has played since and is certainly carrying more muscle, Braybrooke what I've read has been bossing the midfield for our u21s too.

Has we not had our mini collapse I'm pretty certain both would have featured, Alves in particular was included in all the celebrations as a full member of the first team squad including the trip to Mote Carlo despite not playing.

Assuming the manager stays I expect both will feature heavily in pre season and likely included with the first team next season and depending on recruitment sent to a promotion chasing Championship side.

Not forgetting Ben Nelson who Enzo is a big fan of, he will feature a lot in pre season

Average age for the starting XIs was 21.4 for Sweden and 19.9 for England.

 

2-1 win in the end.

I know he had a bad injury the season before but why has he played so little this season? More injuries or has he been sort of stuck as first team 21st man where you end up not playing u21s either?

 

Looked like we were completely on the back foot after we got the 2nd goal and made all those changes

 

Because he'd kept getting injured for the u21s by the time he was fit we were well into our dip in forming hoped he'd play last day but manager chose not to

 

Interesting move. He’s quite similar to their star player, Andrea Colpani, who has been linked with a move away so maybe they see him as a potential replacement.
