Im a page back so maybe someone answered this, but the common theme when American owners are interviewed is that they believe European practices in the business of sports are very outdated and inefficient. Some believe they can tinker at the edges and improve the clubs, and some talk about pretty transformative changes, but most mention that.

Here’s one thing I’ve long thought…the Prem almost certainly would get more money collectively for shirt sponsorships if the League as a whole sold them…away teams rep Nike or whatever, and road teams rep Pepsi. Clubs would/could sign side deals for cup and European competition. But that kind of shared risk and reward isn’t something the incumbent owners think about or talk about. That’s the kind of thing that might happen in Italy.

I interpreted this differently. Maybe I’m not fluent in the lingo. But I read this as, we will sell him for a reasonable price, you won’t have to overpay, but we aren’t actively flogging him either.

They won't give him away, but they may try to sell him along with several other players.

If Motta takes over, his input will be crucial to his place in the team.

McKennie usually has issues with new coaches because he doesn't fit a typical player profile or really fulfill the sort of generic primary midfielder roles.

He can hit a long diagonal and he can make some strong dribbling runs, but he's not consistent enough with his ball control and passing to be a regista or the primary ball progressor. He's a very good defender, but he's not a stay at home guy; more someone who works better in open space and transition in terms of value. He's very good as a chaos merchant / box crasher / offensive midfielder, but he's not a 10 nor good enough to be a primary attacker.

So he's strange in that he's valuable at this level -- he's a good player -- but it seems like every time a new coach comes in -- and sometimes the same coach -- they struggle to place him in a traditional role in their base system and bench him ... only to realize that they need to adjust to find him a place because he brings a lot of difference making plays on both sides of the ball, and he creates issues for opponents.

I don't know anything about Motta so I don't know how he's going to feel about Wes.

Juve does have some financial challenges, correct?

So do they need to sell people in order to bring anybody new in?

Motta is the kind of guy McKennie could learn a ton from. A guy known for his intelligence and tactical acumen.

Some may think that. Some may be doing it for their egos. Some may be doing because they see how much money there is and they want a piece. Some may be trying to diversify their businesses. Some may be trying to be building an Empire. Some may be trying to exploit lax regulations. Some may be doing it to increase their profile.

It might make sense for the league as a whole but it wouldn't make any sense for the big clubs.

Dempsey issue. Every new coach will put him on the bench like they are reading 3four3 in their spare time.

both teams that finished ahead of venezia have been eliminated, so its the winner of the 4th and 5 place finishers in the final.

i cant speak to how tough it will be, but on paper its as good as we could have hoped for.

    eta
como was eliminated, parma won auto promotion.

absolutely , these are the games that scare me. There’s lots of exciting playoff matches this year. Leeds vs Southampton, Venezia vs ??? (They will be good whichever C team it is), st etienne vs Metz, La liga tbd but some nice lineups

The question now is whether Lund has done enough to merit a look from clubs outside of Serie B.

Palermo is, of course, part of the City Group. So options in the family, although not many really fit. Troyes, unbelievably, was just relegated to the 3rd tier of French soccer. Girona and City might be a step too far.

Lommel is fighting for promotion to the top division in Belgium as we speak, so.........maybe???

Anyway, a possible transfer this summer.

I'd put the chances of his moving to a Top 4 league this summer at over 50%.

I'm not getting your "interpretation" here. Why the "interpretation." The statement clearly says they will sell him if they get a good offer. Also not sure what "lingo" you are talking about?

Yes. They are trying to lower the wage bill and have made offers to a few players asking them to spread their salaries out over longer term deals. They have supposedly offered Wes a deal like that and if he takes it, and Motta wants him, then he could stay.

if he doesn't, they will ask him to find another club or will try to sell him themselves.

They are doing something similar with Rabiot, but the difference is he is out of contract. Szcesney also could be moved on because his salary is too large and they are about to buy Di Gregorio from Monza who was just named GK of the year in Serie A which says to me they plan to move Tec on.

Others will be in similar situations.

The new regime at Juve is looking to lower the wage bill overall and build the squad on a more sustainable basis. if current players won't go along with that, they will most likely be moved.

The other thing is, Giuntoli is now in charge and he will bring in his coach and he will build the new team around players that fit what his coach is trying to do...something Juve has not done since Marotta left.

Does Wes fit those plans? Both on the field and with his pay packet? We will know soon enough as Giuntoli is moving quickly to set the team up.

For that stats people Di Gregorio is by far the best GK in Serie A in Goals Allowed - Post Shot Expected Goals.

Wes is also a pretty affordable player. He is the 86th highest paid player in Serie A. He is in a 3 way tie for 15th highest paid player on Juve.

Well, if that's the case, then it favors Venezia, cuz in the event of a tied aggregate score, they are promoted off finishing higher in the table.
