Now 2-0 at City. Beautiful second by Foden.

We were just one win away from the CL.....frustrating.

Well, another season done and there were three outstanding teams with the rest a fair way behind to be honest. Villa, us, Chelsea, Man Utd and Newcastle nowhere near. So, what of next season? Will Pep call it a day after one more season? If so then City's dominance will certainly end because they won't replace him with anyone anywhere near as good. If he's still there at the start of next season they'll probably win it again. Liverpool under Arne Slot? He isn't as high profile as Klopp and going form Feyenoord to Liverpool is a big jump and I don't think they'll be as effective next season. Let's face it, Klopp's a difficult act to follow. I feel we'll have a better chance of top 4 without Klopp at Liverpool.
Arsenal will be the same under Arteta and will be up there but I'm not sure about Villa. Chelsea finished the season strongly which often means a good start to the following season and Newcastle under Howe I don't think will challenge for top 4. Man Utd I haven't a clue.
I fully expect Brighton and Brentford to struggle against relegation and all the rest to be fairly much the same apart from one team which might surprise us if Glasner stays there..........Palace. If he stays they'll do well but if he leaves they'll collapse.

Palace will likely have to replace Eze and Oliseh.

Yes you're probably right but OG is a good coach and that's the all important factor. Look at us without Kane and Dier, 3 places higher in the table and more goals scored and if that can happen to us it can happen to Palace. I wouldn't have said no to OG for us at the time. He'll move onto better things in time too.

Not too surprising I guess, but Poch is out at Chelsea. Scorpion and the frog.

I wonder who Chelsea have lined up.
Poch is still a good coach, and could end up almost anywhere.
Aren't too many coaches 100% safe in their jobs right now.

I’m honestly kind of glad. Poch had that team playing pretty well after the Christmas break. They could have been a real threat next season.

They are targeting the Ipswich coach McKenna.

He could get manager of the month and the sack in the same month.

I had every confidence/fear that he'd turned the corner with them and that they'd be strong in the coming season.

Sad for Poch. Pleased that Chelsea are a dumpster fire. Mostly just happy I can resume loving Mauricio Pochettino.

I thought he'd secured his job. So many coaches have problems after leaving Spurs.

Nobody ever secures their job at Chelsea. This is a club that has sacked two managers months after winning the CL.

The ownership group has made it clear that they call the shots when it comes to transfers. That's why Nagelsmann walked away. I think Poch was so hungry to get back in the PL that he accepted their conditions. He has probably done well to get out when he did.

For me the best thing Poch can do is go abroad somewhere.

Hah, just listened to the Guardian podcast yesterday and they were sure Poch was safe, but they were also scathing about the ownership.

Really makes you wonder who in their right mind takes the job next.

Atalanta defeat Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final with Charlton, Everton, Fulham and Leicester reject Ademola Lookman firing a hattrick. You cannot make this stuff up.

Vincent Kompany has played an absolute blinder - relegated from the PL but on the verge of becoming Bayern Munich coach.

    That’s a risky move after a trophy-less season.

He always had the talent, but apparently has a poor attitude. Maybe he's woken up, like Bradley Wright-Phillips eventually did.

Fabrizio Romano is saying that Wayne Rooney to manage Plymouth Argyle is done (there have been rumors for the last day or two). They've been punching above their weight in the 2nd tier for a couple years now ... I wonder why they'd want to piss it all away?

... and on the subject of Championship Managers, Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the retention of Danny Rohl until 2027. That is absolutely brilliant news for Wednesday fans, as it comes on the heels of discussions with the Chairman regarding structures, budgets, wages, etc. It was after similar 'discussions' that the club parted ways with Darren Moore last Summer, right after he'd taken them up from League1. Rohl will have had demands (or at least expectations), so his extension means the manager and chairman are on the same page going forward (which hasn't always been the case for Wednesday under Dejphon Chansiri).

Is it just me or does his head look like it's been run over by a steamroller? (Rooney)
