Enjoyed Fallout quite a bit. The world building was consistent enough and all the twists and turns enhanced the story. It's not the best thing I've watched this year but it was pretty good.

My wife has been gleefully hate watching Obliterated on Netflix, and of the little I've seen or heard through the five episodes she's screened I can't help but thinking it is AI generated. Crazy mix of crass and trite.

Was already all but official since it was confirmed last week already that they were making preparations to shoot the second season.

I thought it was fun for what it was, though a bit needlessly stretched out by the end.

Some more clues for my Sugar theory:

    Sugar episode four spoilers (open)

    - From the way John talked on the phone to his "mom", it's pretty clear that she isn't really his mother.
    - His conversation to his doctor about The Thing, which is a movie about an alien posing as various humans
    - Throwaway remark about still not understanding people after all this time
    - Throwaway remark about only getting into movies later in life (after he arrived on earth)
    - Throwaway remark about learning a lot from watching movies
    - Throwaway "I wouldn't be human..." line when talking to projectionist

I've been watching a lot of Air Crash Investigations. Probably too much. Last night I heard a big bang in my apartment building and the very first thought in my head was "must be a turbine fan blade failure".

After episode 5 I'm in agreement, but now my question is "Why?"

Gonna finish off The Crowded Room tonight.

Good thing is I'm still not sure how this'll end and it does well to conceal any predictable outcomes of the characters the viewer may have, the first half is pretty bland but it leaves you with little tasters of what's to come.....there isn't much to take from the early 1 to 1 sessions they encounter and you only really come round to learning what this is all about halfway in.

Well, that was way darker than the other Sugar episodes and then...the reveal.

All I've gotta say about it is DAMN!

The ending with the courtroom drama really does bump this up a notch or 2, from a solid built up intriguing premise to an exceptionally told 1. Tom Holland the star appeal.

    I called it!
The final confirmation of the fact that he wasn't human was in the fight with Stallings and his two associates. There was at least one more dialogue clue after that.
He referred to Stallings as a trafficker of humans, not a human trafficker. The first way of saying it is once again a way to other humans (signifying he is not truly one of them).

I have no idea where the last 2 episodes go, much less what they might do if it's more than a 1 season show.

One of the few pieces I have seen in defense of the Sugar twist:

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/obses...rrell-sugar-alien-twist-is-actually-brilliant

I kind of agree that it has made the show more and not less interesting to me, but I can see how it will have turned some people off.

The thing I don't understand is the whole "I did not see that coming!" notion. Which is alluded to in that piece. I don't understand the people who did not like the twist because they feel cheated as if it is something they totally did not see coming.
There had been too many clues not to think something weird was up with John Sugar (and some of his associates). The explanation might not have been this exact thing, but it definitely needed to be something big and weird, otherwise a lot of the weird stuff earlier in the season would not have made sense.

The people calling it "stupid" are all on Twitter, so their entire view on life is irrelevant.

So far the highest fan scores for Sugar on both IMDB and Trakt are for episode 6, so clearly the "people" who didn't like it are just engagement farmers on Twitter who don't count in the real world.

I enjoyed Knuckles, on Paramount+. It's set in the Sonic movie universe, taking place shortly after the last movie. The first episode is really good, then it's okay for a bit while they set everything up for the final 2 episodes, and when it gets to those it's ridiculously fun. Cary Elwes, ESPN8: The Ocho, and a mech warrior figure heavily into the show during those times and they're all great.

A little behind, but thought Fallout was pretty well done. I don't think I ever got far enough in the games to really understand the lore fully, so it was interesting to see how the background in the flashbacks played out. I think it hit the tone of Fallout great, though.

Really enjoyed the first two episodes of Dark Matter. Haven't read the book, so I didn't know for sure what the twist was going to be.

Okay, well that's maybe the most compelling way to set up a season 2 for Sugar. I hope there is another season as long as they can pull it off as well as they did the first one.

    Masters of the Air

First half was a little disappointing, became a little too repetitive. Briefed on mission > Take to the air and drop bombs on German territory > crash/emergency landings > military personnel losses tallied up. That was pretty much it for the first half, only started getting interesting once the enemy captured the Americans and they were taken from prison camp to prison camp.

I was already enjoying Dark Matter on Apple TV+ and then episode 4 came out and it was everything I want in a show like this. Instead of pussyfooting around the idea, they're just flat out doing the thing and it's great.

We have binged Season 2 this past week.

The final episode just started. Interested to see what happens.

The main difference between Season 1 on CBS and Season 2 on Paramount (now, Netflix) is the word 'f*ck' is in just about every episode (and the occasional 'shit').

We have trying to guess when it appears in each episode.

One complaint is here are too many story lines.

I may set up a free trial on Paramount+ two watch seasons three and four.

Katja Herbers is lovely and great.
    Aasif Mandvi is terrific.
