Its strange that gambling is illegal for players but the commentary and all the analyst boast about it. I know the rules only applies to staff of said teams, but still ... it seems like a halfway measure to punish players for doing it, then celebrating it on every live game, joking about it, or just blatantly talking about putting a 10'er on a comeback.

It’s ironic that the league allows players to promote betting and doesn’t allow them to bet.

Seriously - sporting of any kind leaning into advertising and promoting betting is just... ridiculous.

Always felt that if something is age-gated - such as alcohol, adult entertainment, smoking, gambling etc. then as a sport you shouldn't be able to advertise it to kids where advertising is regulated (during tv shows, on shirts etc.).

So football authorities allowing gambling an exception to this always felt wrong and tells you more about how corrupt those managing the sports are.

You can't claim to be a sport that is kid-friendly and inclusive to all countries and religions if you do allow it. Not just a football issue either.

    Burnley (W88),
    Everton (Stake.com),
    Fulham (Sbotop)
    West Ham United (Betway)

Apparently, front of shirt gambling sponsors won't be allowed after the 25/26 season:
    But....
    Ridiculous!

Don't know what it's like outside of the UK, but every ad-break here is full of betting ads.

And it's even more messed up that you have sports personalities (looking at you Soccer Saturday) doing faux-representations of their shows as betting ads.

It surely normalises it for kids, and then you tie it in with Ultimate Team packs on FUT, the whole thing is a mess.

    Leverkusen got the domestic double.

damn near treble and lost a single game all season. hugely impressive and even more so important for football. Bayern winning a 12th in a row adds zero value to the Bundesliga.

i have to say i have really enjoyed football outside of United this season. made me really like football again

4 times unlucky in playoff final. 86, 06,08, and 24. Seems they only qualify when they do it directly.

I know it's a single campaign, but it's a bit concerning to me that we came awfully close to having the exact same 3 championship teams go up this year, who got relegated last year.

That's in combination to having the same 3 relegated this year, who got promoted last year.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

The parachute payments when you drop out the premium make it easier for the recently relegated to bounce back up. It puts the types of Leicester and Leeds and Soton on different pay levels as the rest of the Championship.

Kompany to Bayern is insane. His agent will eat off of making that deal happen for decades.

5 years is the amortization cap. Must be another work around UEFA and EPL finance regs.

We'll have to see what figures are involved. For all we know he's really getting a 3 years of his money's worth in "5 year terms."
