Lol!! I didn't think they would "officially" announce it less than 24 hours after Klopp's last game...but then again, Klopp was singing his name!

Clearly this is why Slot has been chosen.

His achievements with AZ and Feyenoord, reputation for innovation, communication skills and overperforming on a relatively modest budget caught the eye of Liverpool’s recruitment team. A style of play that is not a dramatic departure from Klopp’s and should therefore suit most of the Liverpool squad also appealed. Slot also has a track record of improving players.

The king is dead, long live the king. Was expecting it today. Perhaps a bit cold or businesslike, but then again, Jurgen is gone, he got his day and his send off yesterday, Liverpool Football Club goes on. It’s sad and I’m sure everyone will mourn for a bit, but we all need to move on.

I'm curious to see how things shake out now that we've officially got a new manager (head coach).

Do we add another left-sided CB now that Matip is heading out, or do we stick with what we have and bring Van Den Berg back in to see how he does?

I think we're set at RB, but curious if we are going to look for slightly different options at LB? (either Tsimikas goes or maybe we look at Robertson - just putting this out there for discussion)

Are the rumors true that we are thinking of moving Diaz along? This might open up more time for Nunez on the left flank. Are we going to keep Salah, or let him go to Saudi or somewhere else if there is a good enough offer?

Finally, I think we need one more, defensive/possession minded midfielder in addition to Endo and Bajcetic.

To all those who jumped on Trent from a great height yesterday by calling him a crap defender. Perhaps Arne will buy the a right back and move Trent as a budding general and midfield stopper. The 2 that were bought for the mid role sorta got lost and faded towards the end
Mac Alister and Dom. Trent younger and stronger than Thiago and should be able to fill the role meant for him.

    Predictions:

We'll have a new backup GK (likely promoting Jaros from within) and new 3rd choice GK with Kelleher sold and Adrian moving back to Spain.

We will have a new CB, with solid experience as a first-choice CB. Antonio Silva seems to be preferred choice.

We'll sign a new RB in Geertruida and TAA will be bought by Real.

We'll sign Keupmeiner for the CM.

And a striker, Sesko, will be signed with Nunez heading out the door.

We'll sign 2-3 players under 20 and stick 'em with the youth teams.

Owners will be happy as we'll have a positive/neutral net spend this summer and will have a significantly lowered wage bill.

Form prediction (way too early but whatever):

We start off the season hot with the new manager push. We fizzle out just before or at the holidays. We bounce back in the spring and finish in 4th or 5th.

Nah - my form prediction (agreed way too early…):

we start out sputtering, learning a slightly revised style, and with a huge target on our backs…after a few hard fought games, maybe even a loss and a draw, the boys get into a rhythm and cruise through the rest of the season with a strong effort and minimal injuries - battling Arsenal for the title, but securing it with two or three weeks to go.
ManCheaty have an ‘off year’ and finish third or fourth by several games
We make it to the CL quarters or semis where we lose to Xabi’s Leverkusen in penalties. They go on to win the Cup

That is quite the prediction. Think next season will be Pep's last. They'll win the title one more time to see him off and everyone in England will officially be sick of them. Hopefully enough so that they finally get some punishment from the league.

Yes - I forgot to add that ManCheaty will file some sort of grievance regarding all the threats from the "powers that be" - they will get a hand slap, and maybe a fine...and that will serve as their excuse for not winning the league one more time with Pep in control...He will end up at PSG and be handed another boatload of cash to sign whoever he can attract...and, yeah, well, that's about it...Oh - ManU will sign several new players over the summer, will have another "great year" under tenHogg, and finish sixth...
    ;)

    Spot the Slot!

Arne Slot has arrived in Merseyside as the new Liverpool FC head coach was spotted enjoying a night at an acclaimed restaurant.

The 45-year-old has been confirmed as the Reds' new boss and will take over from Jurgen Klopp next season. The Dutchman has already arrived in the region as he was pictured enjoying a meal at Moor Hall Restaurant last night.

The Michelin starred destination is located in Aughton and is ran by chef Mark Birchall. The head chef shared a snap alongside Slot on the acclaimed venue's official Instagram page today.

  20. I think Sala misunderstood what people said about Slot liking bold players:
