He also looks like he is 13, so I suspect he has a growth spur, and certain that he will get a lot of muscles. Let's wait till he is 20 with physical evaluation.
That’s the thing - he’s 17 but he looks like he’s 13. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything, Angel di Maria had a phenomenal career despite looking like a slight breeze would take him into the rafters. It’s just something to keep an eye on. The real issue for Shore is he’s falling into a tweener space of not really a midfielder and not really a winger. He isn’t consistent enough and secure enough through the middle of the field and not dynamic on the edges. How he develops his game over the next couple years will be crucial.

not released? Very good set up important note: don’t believe Cavan Sullivan or Julian Hall were released https://t.co/WmTpUmP3k1— Youth Soccer Central (@yscentral) May 22, 2024
Jude Terry and Cristiano Oliveira also omitted. Doesn't look like there are enough mids on this roster. Maybe one or two will be added. The article says 20 players were selected but the list only contains 19.

Don't know much about the kids, but pretty sure Segares isn't a good at selection. He shouldn't be coaching this very important age group.
I think this camp he did a little better than he has in the past. Still too many small unathletic players (his speciality) and no real holding midfielders, which I don’t get at all.
📰 Midfielder Cooper Sanchez from @AcademyATLUTD has been added to the #U16MYNT training camp roster. https://t.co/s5LZiyUreH— U.S. Soccer YNT (@USYNT) May 24, 2024
Argentina's announcement about its matches indicated that they would be closed-door games, so I would guess we might get highlights at best.

Would have been nice to see Jack Mize on the field at the same time as Carrizo and Albert. Would be even crazier if we get Carrizo, Albert, Mize, and Cavan Sullivan all on together in upcoming tournaments. Imagine all that talent together at the same time BTW, when is the next CONCACAF U17 Championship?
Hall and Terry were missing. It is an amazing group. Especially when you consider Berchimas is also an 08 but will not be playing with this group.

This 08-09 attacking group is going to be insane. Hall’s hype has quieted down a bit but in terms of actual on field production he’s still probably number one at striker. At the U17 level he’ll be unplayable. Then you have Carrizo, Albert, and possibly Berchimas out wide. I think Berchimas moving up makes more sense though. Midfield looks pretty stacked too with Sullivan, Terry, and Wellings good options already. Defenders and goalkeeper will probably be the positions with the most competition as no one really stands out at the next level yet. Stokes is starting in MLSNP and though he gets worked on a regular basis no one else is showing up at that level. Romero would be a huge get and raises the ceiling of the team. A lot can change between now and 2025 but if we get the players from this group that we can this team could reasonably compete for the World Cup title. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like that about a youth team.
You forgot Hassan. The slightly older group (U20 team) has some very good attacking talent too. Campbell, Bajraktarevic, Figueroa, Fletcher. Midfield aint too shabby either: Cremaschi, Vargas, Medina, Habroune, Tsakiris, Soma
Yeah, it's just so hard at that age for those positions to be able to keep up. Most don't realize it, but MLSNP has gotten a lot better the last few years. I think it's closer to USL Championship level than USL League One level at this point. A few of the guys for this group have done okay. James I feel has done decently. Cupps had some bad moments against Roald Mitchell in his first game (the best player in MLSNP this season before his injury), but has looked fine otherwise for Fire II. Hamouda in limited minutes has Birmingham Legion in USL has done a respectable job. I think these positions will be solid, if not better than that. I don't see them as weaknesses, but they probably aren't as strong as some of the forward positions, and the reality is that most of these kids are just too young at these defensive positions to compete against men. Even the ones who are tall and athletic at the U-17 level look like regular athletes once they get placed in these pro leagues.
