Circling back to report that disaster has struck. Lund came off at 57/58' as part of a double substitution, which allowed Ternana to go ahead 1-2 at 64', then further ahead, 1-3 at 74'. It's still 1-3 against at 85'.

Edit: Full time Palermo 2-3 Ternana

    Still a great goal!

Lund went the full distance today, Palermo losing 4-2 at Brescia.

Palermo actually led 1-2 early, but Marconi short-circuited Palermo and was sent off at 23’ of the first half, leading to a 4-2 deficit by halftime.

What an awful result for Palermo... up 2-0 but lose 4-3 in the midst of a promotion battle.

Kristoffer played the whole match with 93% passing against first place Parma. Top two is now off the table barring a miracle, but their place in the playoff is close to guaranteed.

Kristoffer with another start, going the distance against Reggiana. Seemed very active at LWB, including four shots, but they lose 2-1 and extended their winless streak to five matches. Really peaking in time for the playoff.

Move that winless streak to 6. Lund plays the whole match but gets the worst individual ratings of the match. 1-0 loss to Spezia. Looking increasingly likely that three Yanks will be in the Serie B playoffs.

Lund plays the whole match as Palermo allow a 93rd minute equalizer for a 2-2 draw with Ascoli, trying to keep the winless streak going straight through the playoffs.

Lund starts! playing wide left in a 3-5-2, Palermo (6th) visiting Sudtirol (9th, but eliminated).

Positioning matters in the promotional playoffs, and (most of) the final positions are not set.

1 (Parma) & 2 (Como, likely, or Venezia) go up directly.

    3 & 4 await the winners of 5 v 8 and 6 v 7.

Palermo likely must win to hold the coveted 6th spot. Dropping to 7th or 8th would be unfortunate.

Palermo do win, finally, and get 6th place. Lund plays the whole match in a 1-0 shutout win as the defense allow just one SOG. They finally break their winless streak, just in time for the playoffs.

Palermo win 2-0, and their reward is to face (well-rested) Venezia in a home and away playoff:

Monday (May 20) Palermo v Venezia

Friday (May 24) Venezia v Palermo

OK YA fans…do we want the club with two American central mids to get promoted (arguably our deepest position) or the club with a left back (our traditional Achilles heel)?

Tough call for me, but if I had to pick, I’d want Palermo promoted. With Dest’s injury and also uncertain club future, IMO thats the priority.

Plus, Tesseman had a really good year so he might get bought if they don’t go up.
