Mheuka is the bigger talent I think. More surprised Amass is not in the team. Thought McFarlane looked pretty dodgy in the last game, failed to control some basic balls and took them out of play! Maybe it Amass's injury that's keeping him on limited minutes or maybe the manager doesn't fancy him as much in a back 5.
Started well and have the threat but need more control instead of looking long for the front man. Look much better when we pass it around.
Also think Harrison needs to use that space that he has in front of him. He has acres of space and just needs to glid into that space to help commit the Portuguese players to help free up space for the midfielders. edit: sorry don’t think it’s Harrison but the right centre back
I don’t get Mukasa on that right side? Feels like squad selection has been screwed up a bit for that to be the main plan. He looks much more comfortable centrally. It was evident in the first game that we are playing too direct. Too many of these long diagonal balls feel unnecessary.
Yeah, not sure what the plan is but too often they have tried that ball which is comfortably dealt with when there’s better options in space. We play much better in tight spaces as hence the chances we have created come from that.
I see the comparisons with Nwaneri and David Silva, done some great through balls in that half of which the goal was created. Not really seen a great deal of him before but he shows great vision.
That wasn’t great defending to say the least. We haven’t been that great at dealing with there long balls for some reason.
Can’t see a way back from this even though we have had chances but we just can’t deal with their two pacey wingers.
Noble is getting caught with so many bad angles tonight. Has struggled big time with direct runs off him at 45 degrees and he can't flip his hips, loses his man in a heartbeat. He's good but he's had a bad night.
