Loch Lomond

My wife found a new area for us to hike yesterday. Beautiful place, Loch Lomond, about an hour from home. There's a $10 entrance fee but it's well worth it, trail takes you around the lake edge and then there's a little climbing involved.

 

I don't ever recall drinking a yoo hoo. I was a Nestle's Quik fan.

 

Don't lie...it's ok to admit to having ventured into the gourmet offerings for the elites!

They are two totally different beverages as NesQuik is mixed with milk and Yoo-Hoo is not. That said, Ovaltine is superior by far.

 

To be fair[]....I use 1 scoop of Ovaltine and 1 1/2 scoops of cocoa for 18 oz milk. I put the cocoa in a 2 cup glass with a couple oz of water and nuke it 20 +/- sec to combine. Dump in milk and OT and mix....no extra sugar needed. Drink as is or heat.

 

Someone once told me Ovaltine was a laxative. I never tried it to find out!

 

That's really sad because even after putting them on he still had bear feet!

We were first timers, but it looks like there's one way to drive in. Follow the road down to the lake, hike along the lake (nice trails along the edge for some distance), then there's a fire road that takes you to the point (pictured) and you then loop around, back to the parking areas(s). Nothing too strenuous, although there are a few steep sections. They also have fishing boats and paddle boats available. No swimming though. The reservoir is the main source of drinking water for Santa Cruz, apparently.

This is the second time that's happened to me. The first was Endearing Young Charms, which I associated only with Looney Tunes and then Come on Eileen.
