One of very few highlights during Hege Riise's reign was actually a 2-0 win away against the Netherlands 18 months ago. If I recall correctly, that was a back-against-the-wall win. Last night's performance showed that we have the capacity as an away team to put pressure and disrupt a possession based team enough to keep them at bay for long stretches. It looked like an even game. The quality on the final third wasn't there for us to score, but there were positive aspects if we look behind the result.

Maybe I underestimate the Dutch but I feel like without Roord and Miedema (or at least a fully fit Miedema), they just aren't that special or good as a team and their recent results without them prove that. Norway had options and could have done better even without Caro Hansen and Hegerberg. That 2-0 friendly game in 2022 is pretty much the last time Norway played against a top 5 team in Europe AND won.

LSK Kvinner on the brink of bankruptcy

    - Immediate partial layoffs of practically all employees (except players).
    - The administration switches to the use of a home office.
    - Consider cutting meals for players.
    - Reduction of practice sessions in the LSK hall.

Well, the short version is that the attendances are very poor. Lack of spectators means less lucrative sponsor contracts and so on. The domino effect. At the same time they want to keep up with teams like Brann, whose economy is healthy. Now they are paying for stretching it too far. LSK Kvinner are a stand alone women's club. They are not a branch from the major men's club in the region, Lillestrøm SK, which doesn't help either.

A rescheduled match. A bizarre incident occured in this match when Stabæk coach Jan Jönsson was sent off in stoppage time for running onto the field to stop a counter-attack! He decided the ball was out of play before the referee signalled for it.

It’s understandable why he did it. Need to see that’s replay.

Maybe you say "understandable" because the ball looked to have actually gone out of bounds, but I don't anyway find "understandable" at all the way he reacted and I guess the ref deservedly sent him off.

You cannot interfere with an ongoing play, it's never understandable or acceptable.

Maybe this is the season when Arna Bjørnar finally get relegated, they've come really close a couple of times already since 2019 or so.

Not at all though we did have a player who played there for 2 years (Marija Aleksic) before she got an ACL injury. But generally speaking I'm not a fan of teams surviving for years in a first division at the expense of others.

She has been valuable for Chelsea over many years, but it's about time to head home. She is 34 and I can only think of Brann as her next destination.

Hmm not sure if she would be a regular starter at Brann but I've seen stranger things happening.
