Elliott Capital more-or-less "righted the ship" before passing it off to RedBird, and the company has posted profits for the last 3 years... IDK what kind of debt they're carrying, but the club is making money now.

WRT a stadium, there's unlikely to be any movement on that until we understand what Oaktree Capital has planned for Inter. The two clubs were reportedly on the brink of a deal to build a new San Siro, but the discovery of the insane debt Inter was carrying wound up torpedoing the deal. ACM modernized their training grounds back in 2021, so I think most the money from the sale can go back into the transfer market.

Nothing silly about that price tag. I see no way Milan doesn't snap their hand off even for 150m. He is a mercurial player, and he is productive. I just think with 150 million I could replace him build a more balanced team that played hard all the time, and actually able to not get overrun in the midfield against high level opposition while still producing some goals. Maybe not as prodigiously, but if we weren't shipping them in buckets....

I've gotten confused a couple times when he was actually serious.

Depends who's buying the players. There is no vision or project that I can see
And the stadium is never ever happening. Not possible in a backwards country like Italy.

Oh, I agree. To me, the silly part is Rafa Leao going to Saudi Arabia at 24 years old when he's being linked to Champions League competitors like PSG.

It should be a red card offense.

It is silly. Something about how he carries himself on the pitch wouldn’t surprise that he’s into a money move.

Annoyingly, from what I can gather, it looks like the official Serie A Team of the Year usually gets named closer to the end of the calendar year (even though it's for the prior season), which means we might have to wait a while to see if Pulisic made that list.

Pulisic? I thought the exciting news was that Leao is on the team of the season!

Well we all know that $200 million opens a lot of doors that $20 million does not, and that post playing 99.99% of guys are lucky to be making even half of what they did at the height of their career. Couple that with the .01% of guys to make it to that level and the very short window they have, and yeah, in a lot of ways it makes the most sense to be maniacally money driven.

From SempreMilan, the final battle …

“We end with a battle between two players that Milan signed just weeks apart: Christian Pulisic against Marco Pellegrino on the left side of the Salernitana defence.

Pulisic has been outstanding since his arrival from Chelsea with 25 goal contributions to his name across 49 appearances. Pellegrino struggled for playing time and was sent on a six-month loan where he has featured a bit more, and now he will try stop a opponent who will become a team-mate again from tomorrow.”

Great season for Pulisic. Goes the full 90 today in the final match of the season and gets an assist. My only concern for him is that it’s going to be tough to match or outdo these stats next season, and expectations will be high, but those are the kind of problems you want to have.

as for Yunus, I expect a bit more. As we know, the tools are there. But he needs to work on a lot of things in the off season, namely finishing and final pass.

Wish I could double rep, as you brought out the two exact thoughts I had about these YAs for next season.

Update: I believe he's now tied for 2nd in non-PK goals+assists this season (albeit with Inter still to play tomorrow):

    1. Martinez (Inter) - 25
    2. Pulisic (Milan) - 20
    2. Thuram (Inter) - 20
    4. Giroud (Milan) - 19
    5. Leao (Milan) - 18
    5. Vlahovic (Juventus) - 18

Looked to me like Puli really wanted that game winner at the end there today. He was working pretty hard. Would have been the cherry on top of an absolutely fabulous season from him.

If you want to include all competitions then it is possible he makes a run at 35 goal contributions if he takes penalties and plays for a really good team. But he's already producing at an incredibly high rate for someone in Italy.

Is he being excused from the trip to Perth or not?
