http://www.jfa.jp/eng/news/00033759/ It's just a few friendlies but it'll be pretty close to the final squad.
Okay Nagatomo on the Bench. Suzuki, Maeda etc starts, players like Kubo and Endo on the bench. Moriyasu is hopeless. Next game he will change again completely.
It's a win, but it was genuinely boring because our boys forgot their shooting boots when the opposition in front of them was just so poor regardless. I could have stayed in bed. We better find a way to give that lot a severe beating for the ages on Tuesday.
Looks like the last year with the big winning streak and the WC 2022 was more or less all on the players and nothing in Moriyasu and his tactics. Or maybe a positive brain fart from him. The Asia Cup and the qualify game now was without a doubt a big big step down in terms of game dominance and results. At least till now. Today (nothing against Tanaka) a second tier player was rescue us and secure the 3 points.
Only saw the last 15 minutes... Nagatomo... if you're going to call him, play him at least..Or is he just there as locker room leader?
Gareth Southgate is notorious for doing that silly thing with a washed up Jordan Henderson. Totally needless when that spot should go to someone younger and with an upside. For the record, Hervé Renard officially announced that he will leave France after the Olympics. The JFA better open the chequebook and pay whatever is necessary to win the sweepstakes.
https://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2024/03/22/kiji/20240322s00002014109000c.html What a joke. But then again, you obviously can't host a game as reigning world and galaxy champions (or whatever lie people are told) and risk not to win against an inferior country like Japan in front of a sellout crowd. Better to crush 4-time world champions Myanmar in June.
It's not like Japan has not won over there before. The boys in blue beat those tosspots on North Korean soil by a score of 3-0 back in 1993 and then 2-0 back in 2005, even when away matches in North Korea have been very rare for a long time now.
I'm afraid you're mistaken 1993 was in Doha (followed by the Agony of.. a few days later). 2005 was at a neutral venue in Thailand, FIFA punished NK because home fans attacked the Iran team after a previous home game. Actually Japan has never won a game in Pyongyang, they haven't even scored a single goal on North Korean soil. Since the rise of JNT they only played in Pyongyang once in 2011 (1-0 loss). I saw a documentary about that trip a while back, let's just say it had nothing to do with football. But I suppose they were afraid all the intimidation in the world wouldn't guarantee them a positive result this time.
It was Zac Japan. Zac talked about that trip in italian television too. Anyway, North Korea is the asian Bolivia. For totally different reasons Japan simply CAN'T win in that soil. And that's fine as it is.
What changed since 2011that a football match in Pyongyang is not even possible anymore? Oh silly me, we got precedents now. Calling off WCQ footy on a whim for inane reasons became normalized. Anyone remember when the footy maaybe got called off because of a crush in the stands? We've become soft /s
Ohh Zacs Asia Cup Japan 2011 was one of the most inform JNTs I ever see. This Tournament was a beauty, was a attitude Japan has there. For a fan this was pure gold. Remember the game against Qatar, South Korea or Australia. My god ^^. Sadly in compare Zacs 2014 JNT was the absolutely different...
So what's happening to the three points, now that the decision has been made not to reschedule the game?
I kind of like the squad. Ogawa, Suzuki. No Zion, Asano. Leaving Kyogo, sure its sad but he doesnt like him. Its official now.
