Garbage Queer Amazingly, despite being a Garbage fan for the better part of 30 years (owning every album of theirs except No God No Masters, and having seen them live multiple times), I had never watched the video previously. Shirley Manson is haunting in black and white before going full-blown psycho. That was a pretty disturbing 4 minutes, 49 seconds.
Clarence White, Tony Rice and presumably Roland White and an unknown bassist-- "Way Downtown" and "New Delhi Train" with something else in between. It is long and there a bit of a flaw early in the recording, but I think it is worth posting in re the long-standing debate over who was the best ever, Clarence or Tony. Here we have a very young Tony jamming with an about to die Clarence and a mandolin player in great form. Since Roland was badly hurt in the same road incident that killed Clarence it seems reasonable that they were mostly together the last couple of weeks, and it is him... Unfortunately, the mandolin is in the left channel and both guitars on the right, and nothing much is settled for the debate; both are awesome, and it is hardly fair to compare a young Tony to an established star Clarence... What it proves maybe is that the answer really doesn't matter. If I had to choose I'd take Clarence, but if he were playing across the street from where I was already listening to Tony I probably would order another beer and stay where I was.
Elliott Yamin Song is from 2007. I think he finished 3rd in the inaugural season of American Idol (won by Kelly Clarkson over Justin Guarini).
Nelly Furtado This song hit #1 in New Zealand, Portugal, and Romania. It topped out at #5 in the United States in November, 2001.
