I don't think Argentina is that much a head of the other top 4. Other than Refs helping and Messi(who gets a lot of very friendly calls). Uruguay beat Both Brazil/Argentina.

Ecuador I also rate closer to the top 5

 

Argentina are reigning World Cup and Copa champions and also 1st in WCQ as it stands. If you put all that into the equation you come up with a picture that shows them clear of the rest of South America.

I personally never believed that they are any great but they let results speak for themselves.

Also it's a principle of my ranking that the 1st ranked nation in the world must be at least 89 rated. Otherwise it throws off the balance in my rating system.

 

agreed. Say what you will about Argentina but their record in intl play in the last 10 years is ridiculous:

Brazil squad looks so downgraded. Only three world class players and 2 of them are keepers:

I like Paqueta and Guimaraes

 

All in all is a decent squad with several players from the top teams in EPL and La Liga, but at the same time, only a few are key contributors for those clubs, namely Vini, Ederson and Allison.

 

I think many here are downplaying the talent pool from this call up. Paqueta, Raphiina, Douglas Luiz, Martinelli, Marquinoz, Rodrygo, Guimaraes have an incredible amount of talent and have been huge for their clubs . Douglas Luiz alone has been boss for Aston Vila as has Paqueta for West Ham despite not having the deepest talent around them.

Once they find a DT that can put together their attributes this team will be tough to beat. I'm just hoping they don't click in Copa.

 

Lucas Beraldo is an excellent little CB too. So technical, I watched him a bit st Sao Paulo
