This is from Matt Goodwin's latest poll SNP on 0% in Scotland, Plaid on 0% in Wales. lmao Goodwin's published headline figures based on an obviously error-strewn data table: https://t.co/ffoiYdQX3O pic.twitter.com/76iTNOl0fo— Mark McGeoghegan (@markmcgeoghegan) May 17, 2024
Rumours Sunak is about to call the election. Letters of no confidence reportedly flooding in from Tory MP's who are trying to stop him A shambles to the very end
Something's afoot. Cabinet meeting now with no up front agenda, and all ministers have cancelled/postponed everything to attend.
From earlier Calling a snap summer election shortly after the lobby & most of your own MPs have booked summer hols on the understanding there wouldn't be a summer election would make for such a furiously bad-tempered campaign launch I'm almost curious to see it— gabyhinsliff (@gabyhinsliff) May 22, 2024
Look, I don't ask for much. All I want is for the no-confidence letters in Sunak to hit the threshold the second he announces an election. https://t.co/rhltm4KMBc— Ian Dunt (@IanDunt) May 22, 2024
The announcement could have gone better. Farage says he won't be standing. Clearly worked out that he can wield more influence and grift more cash as the unelected president of Reform rather than become accountable.
Sunak really is tremendously bad at just about everything. Rishi Sunak taking a brave approach to small talk at a brewery in Wales. He asked workers if they're looking forward to 'all the football'. One quickly pointed out that Wales haven't qualified for the Euros 😬 pic.twitter.com/kiHRxNVipe— Tom Larkin (@TomLarkinSky) May 23, 2024

It's also because he knows there are very few seats where he has a realistic chance of getting elected. Now that Brexit's happened, a defeat will puncture the illusion having any remaining relevance while getting elected and becoming the head of a micro-party at Westminster reduces him to a glorified George Galloway. As you say, neither is good for his career prospects in the right wing outrage-entertainment complex. They're no good for his ego either, which I'd say is equally important to him.
Something is seriously wrong with the world when Nadine Dorries makes two good tweets in under 24 hours. Is it relevant that the school term starts in August in the US? 🧐— Rt Hon Nadine Dorries (@NadineDorries) May 22, 2024 You have to question the patriotism in a man who has always claimed above all else to be a patriot when he puts another country before his own.Nigel Farage not standing in the general election because he thinks the elections in the US are more relevant. pic.twitter.com/YeBD2zWtQv— Rt Hon Nadine Dorries (@NadineDorries) May 23, 2024
