I don't think Poch changed the style of football at Chelsea at all, though, whereas ten Hag tried to change us. They basically play as they did under Potter. What did change was they now rely on Palmer the same way we do on Bruno. That's why they picked up form, because he did. The moment he didn't play, had some players out, just like we did without Bruno a few others against Brentford or Bournmenouth or whoever it was we lost 4-0 to recently (I can't be bothered to remember these things anymore). This is why they lost so badly to Arsenal (a game that could easily have been worse than 5-0).

Lol at reports Bayern are considering Kompany. Bigger lol at Pep who said it was his destiny to manage City one day. Maybe when they get relegated after those 115 charges get proven. Hahahahah

speaking of Guardiola. he was named manager of the season.

bullshit for me. easily Dyche for using that mediocre bunch and comfortably keeping them up with one of the best defensive records despite two separate points deductions.

if not him then Emery for taking the relegation contenders he inherited to UCL football. amazing turnaround.

not even sure Guardiola is top 3

Dyche is a great shout. Mr. Good Ebening would be the winner. Also Eddie Howe managed his injury crisis well to even get 7th.

Our backline is shot but we have 2/3rds a midfield and our 3 wingers and striker solved. That is a positive.

Frustrating that we are so regularly linked with the Chelsea rejects; Tuchel, Potter & Poch.

I think arguable that Poch is probably the worse of that lot - his record at Spurs where he went Feb-Nov without winning an away game being a lowlight.

De Zerbi second half of the season record (17th in the table) was sack worthy - hence the mutual aspect to his leaving.

@Chaz Striker I take back what I said about top teams being unlikely to appoint managers without experience such as McKenna . I think the poor choices and how tainted those available are means there will probably be a scrap for the few younger up-coming managers who don't have a lot of baggage. Especially given how many clubs are looking. So you are right - in this current market McKenna can do better than Brighton.

If Ineos are to replace EtH then they better get a move on securing a replacement before the good ones are snapped up.

All the ones available that we are linked with leave me cold. Would actually rather we take a punt on McKenna than a Poch, Southgate etc.

McKenna or Carrick are good ones. Frank the Leeds coach is not bad either.

Seems that Kompany to Bayern is more than just rumours. Sky reporting verbal agreement done.

I think he will be a good manager, but he certainly hasn’t been lights out and if this is the direction Bayern have had to take then it says a lot about who is available out there.

it actually says a lot about Bayern's choices and current attractiveness, not what's out there

Another sign of how shit the manager market is right now if Kompany, who’s done ******** all, is getting the Bayern job.

If rumors are to be trusted, if we sack ETH it’ll be between De Zerbi, Poch, and McKenna. None of those names are exciting.

I must be the only one not too shocked about Kompany- I knew he would get the job when Fabrizio mentioned he was in talks. He's like Lampard in the sense that he has a really good pitch to CEOs. A silver tongue.

He was solid at Anderlecht. It was crazy when Wouter Vandenhaute fired him for finishing third.
Which was proven when the very next season they ended up 11th.
And he did very good in the Championship, I believe he got the points record for a title-winning side?
Obviously though, a few years in Belgium, a successful year in the Championship and a relegation season in the Premier League would not be the kind of CV you would associate with a Bayern Munich manager. Having said that, there have been some strange appointments there in the past. Klinsmann for instance.

I actually think this is a much bigger risk for Kompany. I don't know what his ceiling is but I think he had the chance of becoming a very decent manager. If he fails at Bayern at this stage of his career though, it is very unlikely he will ever get another such opportunity. And it's pretty clear that by getting the job now, he has skipped a few steps at least.

I think he did well at Burnley but didn’t adapt to the premier league

you can’t play expansive ball with those players

he seems intelligent and it would be good for a black coach to succeed at a major club

I think you guys should be looking for a younger coach with fresh ideas rather than a ‘name’

I see him more as an interchange with Hojlund, but dispatchable accross the front line. He's a great foil to Hojlund imo. Wouldn't be that expensive either and might be stoked to return to England.
