Yes I am still alive, I just don't follow football as extensively as before and I'm fed up with certain things and certain tendencies. I also expect the euro 2024 viewing figures will be quite low in this country... (just like WC2022) Instead of watching football matches or listening football podcasts while travelling you can also do something else. https://open.spotify.com/episode/5SRsIfXVRRL4DJsi9t2Rj9
... Hello man ! I'm brazilian from São Paulo city called Wiliam Phil Gracek .. I'm a big fan of Johan Cruyff, Van Basten and Ruud Gullit ... and from you too !! by the posts that i saw of you .... In the 1981–82 season, Gullit was in fine form as Haarlem finished fourth and qualified for Europe for the only time in their history. In that same season, Gullit scored the goal he would later consider his finest: "Playing against Utrecht I went past four defenders and then the goalkeeper, and scored. It was an unforgettable goal for me."[13] Barry Hughes was so impressed with the young Gullit that he described him as the "Dutch Duncan Edwards".[12] did you find this goal sometime in Holland on Tvs .. ?????
CR7, of course. Van Basten was lethal, with a few touches he provided many assists and scored many goals. A crucial player in the final third. But CR7 is another level.
Another level in what mate? Talent? - Not for me, not at all: Marco van Basten ● Goals and Skills ● Netherlands 3:1 England ● Euro 1988 - video Dailymotion
Unfortunately, there is no point in discussing football with these people who are much younger than us. Firstly, they have or have a lot of prejudice towards old or past football in general, in the sense of rivalry, pure envy, alienation and lack of correct information about games that took place in the past, for example, the 80's Serie had 2 points per victory and limit of foreigners (3). ..... Pure jealousy They never actually saw an entire season. of Pelé Puskas Cruyff Maradona Platini Gullit Garrincha Di Stefano Van Basten Zico etc.....
Above all, a lot of prejudice with the past ! in Brazil ... Fans of Ronaldinho, Kaka and Ronaldo Nazario hate Edson Arantes Pelé.
I feel like there is some of that (although I want to clarify that I don't believe Al Gabiru acts like that generally, and my post is nothing aimed at him; just a different point of view). Perhaps some of us, me included, can be accused of the opposite at times lol (bias towards former players), but anyway I was just implying I felt Van Basten was not inherently a lower level player (IMHO for that to be the case C.Ronaldo would have to be some ball wizard, playmaking genius, 75%+ dribbles success type player in addition to what he actually was).
The other day here Carlito86 showed me a Ronaldinho vs Haiti amateur game speaking that was much better than Mané Garrincha .... I've Talked to him I Know ... hahahaha ... Mané Garrincha 12 matches ... 109 dribbles completed in World Cups ... vs Ronaldinho Gaucho 10 matches 26 dribbles completed only in World Cups . ! 2002 and 2006 !
I didn't know that about 'young' Brazilian disparagement of Pele - maybe it is also a little bit why you feel the opposite way (or felt the opposite way in the 'prime years' of Ronaldo Nazario, Kaka, Ronaldinho) I guess....(in reaction to 'over-hype' of these newer players in your own country vis a vis the older legend/s....).
............... The question is I'm brazilian and i'm talking to them all the days here in Brazil ... i understood all in portuguese brazilian language .. ! they hate Pelé by higher numbers ... 1363 matches ..... 1279 goals .. 925 + assists Guiness Book Record in whole World ... vs for example Ronaldinho Gaucho 816 matches ... 302 goals ... 232 assists in general ... they hate this .. speaking .. older Football was much more easier than today ... I understood in portuguese language ... I Know that I'm talking to you .. !! Sir English ! 78 !
I think to some extent there can be some relevant factors he could be alluding to, like Ronaldinho playing in a somewhat 'sub-optimal' shape and form in the 2006 World Cup seemingly (if dribble stats are looked at maybe the 2004/05 Champions League ones are more representative), the game being more open in Garrincha's time, and Garrincha's style of play which might include some over-use of dribbles (sometimes multiple vs the same player) arguably.... But, I would agree with you I think re: Garrincha in that I don't believe it's likely correct to go the extreme of thinking "he could never do this in the modern game, he'd be tackled by any half-decent defender" or whatever, like I think some guys (not necessarily Carlito) sometimes suggest - I don't think he'd be so easy to stop in any era to be honest, with his agility, body-swerves, control over the ball, acceleration etc (but I'm not saying he'd find it just as easy as he did in his day all the time either, in a more modern environment). It does have to be guesswork when thinking about these kinds of theoretical scenarios though obviously....
........... For example, the English team is seen as a joke in Brazil, they laugh and humiliate the English in general the football of course not country ... well for me Mane Garrincha is better than Ronaldinho for the him personality in big games or decisive moments he don't felt the pressure into the games ... by Style of him-self .. ... even for Botafogo he won ..titles extremely important in that age ... Botafogo[modifier | modifier le code] Vice-Champion du Brésil en 1962 Champion de Rio de Janeiro en 1957, 1961 et 1962 Vainqueur du Tournoi Rio-São Paulo en 1962 et 1964 Vainqueur de la Coupe des champions des États Rio-São Paulo en 1961 Vainqueur du Tournoi Initial en 1961, 1962 et 1963 yes .. i saw this Status Ronaldinho gaucho Uefa Champions League ...04/05 and 05/06 ... 64% ... nice ! but Garrincha ....Rio-São Paulo tournament ... is level closer of 200 or 300 dribbles completed these competitions ..!!!
