🚨 JUST IN: Real Madrid do NOT plan to sign a Kroos replacement this summer. The club does not see a Kroos replacement on the market. Next summer, it will be considered and the club will search for a ‘controller’ during the season. @AranchaMOBILE pic.twitter.com/MOdLHkqLzW— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 22, 2024 🚨 Real Madrid’s midfield for the next season:Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Fede Valverde, Luka Modric, Dani Ceballos and Bellingham. @AranchaMOBILE pic.twitter.com/2JZrtAKOi4— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 22, 2024
Modric staying does give us a bit more tactical flexibility. Perhaps his minutes increases next season because we’re hardly ever fully healthy

Lol here we go with genuine nonsense. Come back to me in April 2025 or so. If Musiala still hasn't signed a new contract with Bayern by this point, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe we can talk. I mean, I rate the guy, big fan of Musiala, but he's already a featured player at a top club. I know, I know, so was Kroos. We signed him when he was entering the last year of his contract. That's about the only way you get starters at Bayern, when they're running down/out of contract. Right now, I couldn't care less about anything Musiala related.
🚨 JUST IN: Till few days ago it seemed like Nacho has made his decision. But as of today he is still HESITANT between leaving or staying for one more season. @marca pic.twitter.com/niLPaSuAl4— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) May 22, 2024
Speaking of Joselu: ❗️There are serious talks between Joselu and Al-Ittihad.— @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/uHS1ezMijf— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) May 22, 2024 Thinking logically, I'd rather Endrick gets the current Joselu role next season and Joselu gets a check he has probably never seen in his life. But as a fan, I wouldn't mind him staying another season and live his Real Madrid dream.
If we win the CL, Joselu has a La Liga and Champions League title - both of which he can say he made key contributions to - on his career CV. Both won with the club that he came through the academy with and remained a huge fan of during his long time away playing with other clubs. He almost surely never expected a season like this one to have happened, you'd have to think there would be a sense of "career fulfilled" for him and he'd be ok taking the money to enter soft retirement. If that's the case, I would hate to lose his player profile in next year's team (although it makes the Endrick transition itself a bit more seamless) but he's delivered more than I ever expected and will forever be grateful for the season he had.
Joselu is a popular name right now. Saudi big offer might not be there for him a year later. So if he wants to cash in, this summer is the right time.
Joselu has probably earned chump change over his career. If he wants to grab a Saudi deal at this point, he is perfectly within his right. It his call.
Yeah Modric helps a lot. But if anyone hates playing defensive and playing on the counter, you’ll get that more next season.
I believe Militao will be back to his best by the start of next season. But with the question marks surrounding his form, and no guarantees of how Alaba will perform after he returns from the ACL injury, perhaps extending Nacho for another year makes sense.
Nacho's future might be linked to Yoro transfer though. We'd have 5 CBs if Nacho stays and we sign Yoro.
I'm now wondering how serious we are on Yoro, or to put it differently, how likely we are to sign him this summer. Renewing Nacho and maybe bringing back Marin, is financially the easiest route.
If Nacho is staying for another season, we are ok with the current group. Always good to have veteran canteranos around for leadership and to maintain our values. In that case, we should leg Rafa Marin play another season out there to gain valuable experience....maybe he ends becoming a top CB...who knows? We could also potentially sign Yoro now and keep him in France until the end of next season if the club is that big on him. In any case, we're fine for another season with Rudiger, Mili, Alaba and Nacho. Hopefully Mili and Alaba come back with a lot of hunger next season.
