Would be a good opportunity to give minutes to younger people though. Anything tbh is better than what we have now - no relegation and the most clown playoffs imaginable - the play in looks like some shit a 6 year old made up, then on the other end a team can tie their way to the final. The competition was taken out if relegation, taken out of the playoffs, it’s so farcical.
I especially hate the higher seed advancing... They should settle it on the field. If tie after extra time, then PKs.
I think in my ideal liga mx there would be no play-in, relegation existed, playoffs decided on the field. For the four or five spots we get in the CCL which imo will be more prestigious with the new club World Cup and game against the libertadores champ every december - liguilla champs, top team from the aggregate of the two seasons outside of those two champs, and copa champ. Actually promote competition instead of this garbage we have now, something so similar to what is seen everywhere else in the world
Bingo. Great ideas....I have little interest because the championships are cheapened and competition isn't fostered.
Greed was the difference. I am being converted over to the idea that football wise being in the libertadores was better for Mexico.

Not a fan of forcing teams to give kids minutes when a lot of them aren't 1st team ready Also not a fan when a Tuca lead Tigres team gives them zero minutes and pays a fine instead I would be more ok with it if they brought back the Copa MX

Did I not say it? Certain teams don't have the best player development programs....so why force them to play not ready 1st team kids in games that will cost them points Play them in Copa MX games against 2nd division teams to get experience And to that dude's point about "experience"..... yes, Copa MX semifinals aren't WC or CL semifinals but the pressure to win in a do or die game is there....so they can develop that nut-cutting gene
Last night I watched France vs Canada. I can't believe how good Canada actually is. At times, they dominated France and came close to scoring several times. The frenchies had to put in Mbappe at the end because they wanted to win so badly. While Mexico has devolved, it's amazing to see how much other countries have progressed.
