Paulo Fonseca has been chosen as the next Milan manager 🔴⚫️He’s ready to reject both Marseille and Lille to accept the Milan job. They’re in talks for a 3 year contract and he believes he can build a competitive team.📰Sky Sport Italia pic.twitter.com/QjMm7vgJOs— Italian Football TV (@IFTVofficial) May 22, 2024 Not my first choice but Fonseca does play an attractive style of soccer, has adapted his tactics to his teams, and is known for integrating youth to the first team (which Milan wants).
Sempre Milan posted this so things could get interesting ⚠️ EXCLUSIVE: #ACMilan enquire about Stuttgart boss Hoeness in meeting - the detailsℹ️ All the details, with @SempreMilanIT 👇https://t.co/ZcPyYtndQQ #SempreMilan— SempreMilan (@SempreMilanCom) May 22, 2024
Sure but I will also say this, while Sempre Milan has some good content, the insider they use has also become fairly unreliable But losing rep is fine to me
I'd have to look it up, but way back when I used to (have to) preface any serious post I made with the words - you guessed it - "serious post alert." I'm not kidding.
I actually knew he was joking but the original response I had felt kind of dickish so I made it more neutral
Sempre seem to be covering all the bases. Pretty much anybody that might possibly be able to get out of a contract and has a head coaching license has been "linked" to the Milan job and have they even officially paid off Pioli and let him go? It may just be me but these Italians seem to be a dramatic lot about their football. They need some top shelf defenders. That center back position lost way too many challenges or failed to even mark people in dangerous situations. Can a new coach fix some of that rashness? Call me skeptical, I think it is a personnel issue. The midfield has been pretty beat up all season, with no real consistency. Need to get that sorted. Can it be done with the personnel they have? Can Pobega get healthy and play himself into a champions league performer? Is there a youthful right back at the club with some speed? Can Musah offer something more and take that next giant leap? Cheek has never been able to sustain availability. I get moving on from a coach and all that is pretty standard, but the new coach is going to need some players.
After 15 years I think you’ll finally make it. You’ve been stellar this season, despite all the turmoil - you’ve earned it!
https://www.ojogo.pt/6629991389/tra...a-vista-al-hilal-vai-avancar-por-rafael-leao/ O Jogo claiming that Leao's father is going to sit down with Al Hilal in the coming weeks to try and work out a blockbuster deal that would see Hilal meeting Milan's €175m release clause for Leao. O Jogo points out that Leao got his first senior contract at Sporting under Jorge Jesus (current manager at Al Hilal) and reports that their sources claim that agent Mario Rui is helping finalize the deal (Rui was involved with Neymar and Otavio's moves to KAS last year). They also note that Leao reacted to Fabrizo's post yesterday saying he's ready to "drop something big" with "wide eyes" emoji. On the other hand, it's silly season...
if that ends up happening, Milan settling up with Lille to remove the 15-20% sell on clause was an extremely shrewd move. 20% of 175M would be 35M. They paid around 20M to settle his contract situation and removed the clause.
Just have to get the really good ones to agree to go to Milan. Calls for shrewd management, not Chelsea-style "buy everything in sight"
What is Milan’s situation in terms of needing money for a new stadium, or refurbishments? (I’m gonna challenge the Cajun Viking next year.) Might some of the money go toward that?
