We were discussing this over in a Romanian footie forum and apparently the club are giving the player a DNA test to check. The idea is that Edgar, the player that Dinamo Bucharest thought they had signed, may have an injury that was undisclosed, and that he sent his twin brother (Edelino) to Bucharest in his place. Edelino isn't as good and was struggling to find another club to take him on.

I wonder if his twin did play matches for Feyenoord we don't know about.
Would be interesting to see VI ratings of this player in the Feyenoord matches to see if there are unexplainable low ratings.

Italian top club mirrors 'model' Feyenoord with transfer policy.
Lazio sees Bayer Leverkusen and Feyenoord as examples of successful sporting policy. Sporting director Angelo Fabiani of the Romans says that he wants to mirror the German champion and Dutch top club. According to Fabiani, Lazio wants to do things a little differently in terms of transfer policy. "We will start a new cycle, with young players. Except for big exceptions, I don't intend to sign players over the age of 30," he told La Repubblica. "Bayer Leverkusen and Feyenoord serve as models." The Rotterdammers and the Romans are no strangers. This season, they met in the group stage of the Champions League.

    Goodbye Arne.
Thanks for the pleasure you installed in the players and so made watching Feyenoord a treat.

Now the club can revert to the mean and continue to finish in third place.

    Who is gonna replace Arne!?

    No idea.
Te Kroese keeps his cards firmly to his chest.
All we've got is speculations in the media.
Slot's former assistent and current coach of Shahktar Donetsk, Marino Pusic, and former player and current assistent coach of Borussia Dortmund, Nuri Sahin are currently mentioned the most in the media.

COLUMN | 'thank you' doesnot help Arne Slot's work
It's an evening in March last year. Via Igor Paixão, the ball falls at the feet of striker Danilo, who does not hesitate for a moment and shoots. Moments after Feyenoord supporters put their scarf in the air and asked themselves en masse 'what are we going to do today?', Feyenoord took a 7-0 lead against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The match in the eighth final of the Europa League eventually ends in 7-1. For Feyenoord, it is the biggest European victory ever. In the catacomb of De Kuip there is no exaggerated jubilation after the final whistle. The players walk leisurely from the field to the dressing room, while a little further Arne Slot speaks to the press. As always, Slot looks calm. As if he had been a spokesman at the Ministry of General Affairs for many years before his coaching career, he explains why Feyenoord was able to impose its will on the opponent. Then he thanks the journalists. As if he had just paid for his groceries at the Albert Heijn, he looks around, bows his head and walks away.

On Sunday, Slot announced what we already knew: next season he will be the coach of Liverpool. A few hours later, at Anfield, the current coach of that club Jürgen Klopp stood with a microphone on the center spot. He surprised everyone there by suddenly playing "Ar-ne Slot" to the tune of an unintentional football song, live is life. He was jealous. They don't know what they have in their hands yet and cried for their own trainer to leave. We sang to Slot one more time, as we had done so many times. Slot has not only resuscitated Feyenoord, but also its supporters. New songs emerged that only emerge during a successful European campaign, when supporters on a terrace in an insignificant city have to rely on each other for hours on end. Or if they get a sniff of a championship, or the arch-rival is beaten 6-0.

In the Netherlands, a popular opinion (and misconception) is that a trainer is only as good as his selection.
Slot has proven that if a trainer does not hide behind clichés, but always wants more, is always looking for better, his influence can be enormous. The greatest merit of the born Bergentheimer is that he has broken with the dogma that Feyenoord loves fighting football and 'nice and hard work', as all the running one-liners would have you believe even now. Because he saw how big Feyenoord really is and where the bar should be, he knew that was too simple.
Slot changed course and slowly grew to a singular level.
After the last press conference, Telegraaf journalist Valentijn Driessen received a hug.

Other journalists fear that there is no life after Slot. The truth is that the foundation was laid partly thanks to him, but not only thanks to Slot. For Dennis ten Kloese, the biggest challenge of his time in the Maasgebouw now comes next: finding a suitable successor. In this, he must take an example from Liverpool: the new coach must commit to the line started by his predecessor. We can be grateful to Slot, but much more important is that we do not let his work slip away. There is only one way to do this: all the dogmas that Slot has so decisively thrown into the trash must remain there. Anyone who even dares to suggest that Feyenoord should embody 'professional football' should be stopped at the gates. In the coming months, we'll see if the club's eyes were really opened, or if Slot turned out to be a blissful chapter.

    Peter.

As moderator of these forums, I feel that this comment was uncalled for. In a very down season for Ajax, you should have noted that the few Feyenoord supporters were very muted and did not crow about it in the Ajax forum. And yet you, the moderator, come into the Feyenoord forum with this sarcastic comment?

I reported your post, but of course you are the moderator. Much better is expected from you.

I stand chastised with good reason. Apologies to all the Feyenoord supporters and good luck finding a new trainer.

One on my preference list is Dick Schreuder, who's currently coaching Spanish Castellón. about him a
From what I've read about him, he fits the current team and style of play very well.
One disadvantage he has is his lack of international experience.

    According to "de Telegraaf":
Justin Bijlow is once again in the interest of Premier League clubs. It would be Arsenal and Liverpool, reports the "Telegraaf". Last summer, the Feyenoord goalkeeper was already seriously on the radar of Manchester United, but now the number two and three of the Premier League are interested in Bijlow. At Arsenal they are looking for a goalkeeper who can compete with David Raya, at Liverpool the Feyenoord player seems to have to be brought in as a second goalkeeper in the first instance. The Reds' interest is unrelated to the arrival of Arne Slot. Bijlow is said to have been on a shortlist at Liverpool for a long time. It is not known how much the 26-year-old Rotterdammer, who still has a contract until mid-2026, will cost. Last year, Feyenoord asked for around 25 million euros, but according to De Telegraaf, that is no longer realistic. A possible transfer fee will be 'significantly lower' this summer.

How much I like him and value his qualities, my reaction is "sell him".
He has been too injury prone and with him gone Wellenreuther is a very reliable replacement.

I agree with this completely. Wellenreuther has filled in for Bijlow several times and if we don't use him, we lose him. If a $illy money clubs wants to pony up $illy money for Bijlow, then take it I say.

Nuri Sahin appears to be Feyenoord's first choice for trainer but they will have to wait until after the CL Final on June 1. If the Dortmund trainer leaves afterwards, Sahin is the likely replacement.

Now the top choice for new trainer appears to be Brian Priske, a Dane who is currently at Sparta Prague.

That would be the CONCACAF Champions League, which is equivalent to the UEFA Champions League in structure, obviously, but not competitive level. It has been won mostly by Mexican clubs but some from Costa Rica and the USA have won it also.

  21. Chivano Wijks is leaving for FC Bayern Munich, according to Voetbal International. The Germans are said to have already reached an agreement with the 16-year-old right wing-back.

Bayern isnot a good destination for young foreign players to develop.
About 3 decades ago they snatched a young talented defender from us too and were proud to announce they had the next Beckenbauer.
Maybe if he had stayed with us he would have made it to that level, but after some tie we never heared about him anymore.

My hometown team, DC United, were the first US club to win the tournament back in 1998. Those were the days before lots of US player headed overseas and the team had several US NT members as well so 3-4 from Latin and South America. They later defeated Brazilian side Vasco de Gama for the Western Hemisphere cup (can't remember the name). I was at the match here which was cool.
