Also, one thing I cant stand about American sports fans is wearing jersey's for teams that are not playing in that game. I saw no less than 10 Messi tops.
Taken out of context: "You're gonna be that guy who wears the jersey of the team you're going to see?" October 2nd is gonna be a shit show. Either people are going to be drooling and fawning or they'll be complaining he didn't play like it's some sort of contractual obligation.
Exactly. Paying $40 for 2-3 hours of parking...well, they also have a strong public transit system. I've been to Chicago twice and I think the car stayed at the hotel the whole time. The downside, of course, is that the event goes into a long rain delay and the El isn't running when the event ends and you gotta walk three miles back at 2am in humidity levels somewhere between "disgusting" and "tropical jungle."
We had friends that used to live in Oak Park so we would just park there and take the El in. They've long since moved but we still park there. Could be closer neighborhoods but we are familiar with that one.
If you think those drivers are bad, try Naples.... My wife, trying to figure out how to drive an electric car (one issue--single pedal driving) in the middle of Florence, had a few things to say about Italian drivers, as you might imagine.
Yeah, f#ck that. I was half a hair away from buying tickets to the Toronto - Cincy tilt on Saturday because I'm going to be there anyway. Would have definitely sported a yellow jersey.
If you want to be further incensed at the ridiculousness of $418 face value tickets for that game, the face value for a ticket to the game down there next month is $100. You can fly into FLL, Uber to and from the stadium, and fly back for less than the cost of one ticket to our home match against them.
I'm just glad I bought season tickets to see a team and won't complain if one player doesn't show up like it's some sort of obligation. (Spoiler Alert: Golden Balls wasn't obligated to show up to Columbus. This guy isn't and neither will the next guy.) It also makes sense that tickets for the game down there are less, considering there's more chances for Mia..errr...Messi fans in Miami to see Messi. Of course if the Crew FO charged $79, people would bitch that scalpers were the ones charging the $418.
This has always been somewhat of an issue with Opening Day (baseball) in Cincy. Scalpers used to buy up a ton of those. So they finally increased the prices. I get that--why should someone else make a ton of cash on re-selling your product?
Bonus! That might be a good game to place a bet on then. I noticed that Vegas lines do not seem to account for MLS injuries and other reason players are out as much as they do in other sports.
You are dramatically overestimating the average person's attention to detail. There will be dozens of people who buy tickets to this game and then complain about him not being there.
