I'll anyway proudly keep on my avatar the face and the name of a player who was the all-time best Left-Back of the women's football (at least in my eyes ).
Also about Omiya Akane Yoshitani and Minori Tajima are also going to retire. Yumi Uetsuji, Saori Ariyoshi, Yuki Sakai, Fumina Shibayama and Arisa Mochizuki will leave at the end of the season. Most of them are over 30 year old, I guess they want to add some freshness to the team. I think that it's the only team to announce so many changes so early. Players in other teams who are going to retire at the end of the season : Rika Masuya (Inac) Rui Furusawa (Cerezo)
As an aside, all France group stage games + the final of the competition will be broadcasted live on local TV news channel (BFM Marseille and BFM Var): ⚽ SUD LADIES CUPTous les matchs de l'équipe de France féminine U20 et la finale à suivre sur @BFMMarseille et @BFMVar📺 Du 27 mai au 4 juin pic.twitter.com/bDWc8rsypS— BFM Marseille Provence (@BFMMarseille) May 23, 2024 Quite rare here, especially for this age category. Probably helped by the reputation of the men's tournament (Tournoi Maurice Revello), but it's still an improvement. I hope even more than before the Young Nadeshiko will be part of that finale now

To be fair, European clubs aren't very much informed when it comes to "exotic" leagues, relying more on international competition. I wouldn't be surprise if her goal against the USA has done more advertisement for her than the billion and a half goal contributions she has in the league.
Nadeshiko League 1 H.T....Bunnys 0-1 Ehime Another game...another starting line up...another formation It seems Bunnys are a club in disaray by the way they are playing, so much they are making Ehime look really competent....Tago starts up front and takes what looks like a speculative long range shot from distance at 2 mins that somehow finds itself going past Bunnys keeper...Ehime have a lot of possesion but there doesn't seem to be a plan...they are playing like a group of strangers...what has coach 'calamity' got up his sleeve for the 2nd half This is sort of like the Takakura early era (everybody gets a game somewhere on the pitch) by the coach
Nadeshiko League 1 F.T....Bunnys 1-3 Ehime Ehime FC Ladies finished the first half of the season with a 3-1 win....it would have been nice to report they played some nice footie and won 3-1...they didn't...Matano doubled the lead on 48 mins from some pretty hapless goalkeeping from a CK..... Bunnys got one back from their #11 ? at 66 mins.....Sakurai made it 3-1 on 87 mins but unfortuneately forgot to run and jump into the coaches arms so maybe wont be in the starting line up for the next game...Played 11....Won 3....Draw 3....Lost 5...12 points....not exactly a sparkling start from new coach after the pre season promises....an example of this guys decisions...last game new player Kuroiwa was having the game of her season gaining in confidence every time she surged forward so he takes her off in the 2nd half and she comes on in the second half of this game....likewise newcomer Matsuoka was having her best game last week same thing he takes her off in the 2nd half...brings her on the last 10 mins today and she misses a virtual sitter which she most likely would not have missed had she been on for the whole two games..if his plan is to confuse the opposition by confusing his own players he's succeeding and how...sack him (KAPI Elstree...I see Iga are in for the Viama treatment this week...it's the last chance...if they beat you guys they've beaten everybody)
Lost in Translation...at least I hope so...please help I have been wanting to ask this favour for ages because I can't believe it On the Ehime website....Ladies Players....Profile #8 Matsumoto (beating heart of Ehime FC Ladies imo) there is a section that translates Question..."Tell me three things you like about yourself" Answer....."Good name...good bowel movement...can work hard for others" Could someone kindly tell me what it really says...cheers
Today's result: WE League Urawa (Seike 2, Osafune) 3-3 Beleza (Suzuki, Muramatsu, KanNo) Mynavi (Ohta) 1-3 Albi (Kawasumi, Ishida, Kawamura) Ohmiya 0-2 Inac (Aikawa, Tanaka) Jef (Shirowa) 1-0 Chifure Nagano (Inamura, Ohkubo) 2-3 Nojima (Fujiwara, Ohtake, Nebu) Nadeshiko League Bunnys (Shioya) 1-3 Ehime (Tago, Matano, Sakurai) Nadeshiko League 2 JFA (Kimura, Itamura) 2-2 Imabari (Yamashita 2) Seisa (Suzuki, Kato) 2-1 DR Hiroshima (Hamada) Mie (Takada) 12-1 Izumo (OG) Anclas (Yanagita, Koyama) 2-0 Tsukuba
OK, but it literally means her words. She doesn't have hard time to ... I guess it causes many women much annoyance.
I think people should take a look at the defending of Nadeshiko defender Hana Takahashi in this game. Let me just say it was not one of her better games. The thing is though, she seems to defend much better for Nadeshiko than she does for Urawa. Ikeda must be a genius. Nojima get another win to finish off their season quite well I suppose. Three goals were scored in the last ten minutes of the game, which made for exciting viewing. Nojima should have scored more than one goal in the first half. The game was quite even, but for most of it Nojima actually created the better chances to score. Sakakibara was again excellent today with Ohga also barely putting a foot wrong until the first goal for Nagano; even that was not her fault, but more bad luck. Ohga was quite poor at the start of the season, but she has been very good since the winter break. Nojima are at least entertaining to watch against the weaker teams and they make free-kicks fun. Nagano probably need a better keeper. Yuka Okamoto who plays at left back did some very good things today. I do not watch enough of Nagano to know how good she is, but when she plays against Nojima she plays well; but then again everybody plays well against Nojima. I could see her being picked up by a bigger team.
