    Here is the squad announced by Murat Yakin for Euro 2024:

    • Goalkeepers: Yann Sommer (Inter), Yvon Mvogo (Lorient), Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund), Pascal Loretz (Lucerna), Marvin Keller (Winterthur);
    • Defenders: Kevin Mbabu (Augsburg), Silvan Widmer (Mainz 05), Nico Elvedi (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Manuel Akanji (Manchester City), Ricardo Rodriguez (Torino), Ulisses Garcia (Marsiglia), Cedric Zesiger (Wolfsburg), Eray Cömert (Nantes), Fabian Schär (Newcastle), Becir Omeragic (Montpellier), Albian Hajdari (Lugano), Bryan Okoh (Salisburgo), Leoninas Stergiou (Stoccarda);
    • Midfielders: Denis Zakaria (Monaco), Remo Freuler (Bologna), Granit Xhaka (Bayer Leverkusen), Uran Bislimi (Lugano), Michel Aebischer (Bologna), Xherdan Shaqiri (Chicago Fire), Vincent Sierro (Tolosa), Steven Zuber (AEK Atene), Ardon Jashari (Lucerna), Fabian Rieder (Rennes), Filip Ugrinic (Young Boys);
    • Forwards: Zeki Amdouni (Burnley), Noah Okafor (Milan), Renato Steffen (Lugano), Ruben Vargas (Augsburg), Dan Ndoye (Bologna), Kwadwo Duah (Ludogorec), Breel Embolo (Monaco), Joel Monteiro (Young Boys), Andy Zeqiri (Genk).

    There are some notable missing names:

    Cedric Itten: Imho this is a very bad new as he is doing very well at Young Boys. Very disappointed!
    Miro Muheim: He had to be called as alternative to Rodriguez imho
    Jordan Lotomba: There was only one spot, him or Mbabu, and I'm fine with Mbabu
    Edimilson Fernandes:I think that the midfield has a tight competition.
    Christian Fassnacht: It was him or the new guy Monteiro, i don't know very well the new guy though.
    Haris Seferovic: I agree not to select him because he hasn't even been always a starter in Arabia.
    Giotto Morandi: He could have given a chance, as he is performing well lately.

    I have mixed thoughts on the Euros for the Swiss. They could do really well or could be very "pragmatic" ie boring and go out in the group stages. I would love to see the former, but there seems to be a rift between the payers and the manager. Not a good sign.

    Great start to the first match. Up 0-2 at the half. If the Swiss get three points from this, they should end up with at least six as Scotland looked really poor yesterday.

    1-3 for the Swiss. Get way to set up the rest of the group stages. With Scotland up next, the final vs Germany will be one for winning the group, not for qualification.
