I don’t know if anyone in this forum has the answers. I do know that Heitz DOES NOT have the answers.
It took repeated talking out of your ass for quite a period of time to get the particular version of blast reserved for you. Given your history of posts, I am not expecting that anything you put forward is actually going to be thought through or based in reality. If you change? ********ing awesome, let's see that. However, until that demonstration, the expected result of idiocy (xRoI, the new measure just for you) remains supremely high. It doesn't take years to figure out that Shaqiri was nearly worthless to us as a DP. That was obvious in a number of games you could count on one hand. Likewise, our DP striker who can't create his own chances. These players could be awesome for us if the whole rest of our team were different.....but the folks responsible for assembling the group keep trying to buy a magic piece that will "make everything work", despite clearly not understanding what the features those players would need to have to benefit *this* team. There is no "string of bad luck" that keeps us at the bottom of the league. It happens entirely by purposeful action. No, they are not *intending* to be worst in the league....but if you sit at a table full of poker pros, you aren't *intending* to give your money away...but absent comparable skill and planning, that is *all* you're going to do. Yet you keep posting things akin to "hey, this next re-buy is really exciting....let's see what happens, we're gonna make that inside straight for sure!". The results are predictable and predicted, except apparently for you.
(Nearly) everyone finally agrees that moving the player acquisition/ contract negotiation process away from Heitz/ Pelzer to someone new is the first step in the Fire Restoration Plan. How about we focus on providing ideas, support, gentle pressure and other positive actions toward achieving this goal and reduce bickering amongst ourselves? I am going to try- please nudge me when I stray.
So…now you are ‘blasting me’? With your own condescending judgment stat Regarding your earlier snark ‘You're "looking forward to the moves about to be made" by the player selection process *demonstrably worst in the entire league*, I sure am! And I expect there will be some.
So basically, despite the fact we differ on what constitutes 'care' about a supra rich guys money...you agree with me when I said it is his following Heitz that is the issue. Or did I miss something again being the dumb one I am? I also noticed no one answered my questions about Pelzer.
I don't think anyone on hear can speak authoritatively about the split of duties between Heitz and Pelzer...or could they
I think this is a misconception that needs to be corrected by the FO. I mean, they're doing more, spending more, building more, etc. It's NOT currently producing more, but we've done a 180. Joe isn't taking the lead from what came before. He ejected most of that generation of crap out of the FO and technical staff and that alone was both necessary and a positive. If they haven't all been replaced with better pieces, well, that sucks. But we shouldn't believe we're still on the same Titanic adrift towards the same iceberg.
More like the Andrea Doria. It's different because it's a collision with another ship and most people survive, but it's the same because the ship still sinks.
what can the current regime count among its wins? - groundbreaking on a new training center - lots of new STHs, though Messi likely takes a good bit of credit for this and the real test will be retaining them - ???? i've heard some mention of improved internal culture, but the on-field team culture looks bad from a body-language read
“We had an incredible Academy Signing Day for our next intake of U13 players, capped off by witnessing their excitement as they enjoyed their moment on the big screen at Soldier Field! The first year of our Discovery Centers has been a resounding success, enabling our academy staff to evaluate over 450 players over a 7-month period. We are thrilled to welcome 15 new players from 9 different local clubs, reflecting the outstanding efforts of our community in developing the next generation. Vamos!” https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/activity:7198870897233989634?trk=viral_share That was just posted on LinkedIn and is an example. Setting that up* and getting through a first seven months is a good example of the efforts that go unnoticed (due in large part to a failure on the FO’s press team). Will any of those 450 kids work out? Who knows, but the amount of resources (monetary and human) that went into this youth effort is most certainly more than Hauptman spent over the course of his entire regime on youth development. By the end he was only stopped from cutting the entire academy structure because of MLS. *I would assume this was at least two years in the making, maybe closer to three. Cleaning house, hiring new, building the system and then getting through seven months of analysis.
Not sure who is really responsible for some of the areas that appear to be approving. For now, I am willing to give some credit to Heitz. What is certain is that Heitz/Pelzer are responsible for Fire I player acquisitions. What is also known for sure is that Fire I results have been unacceptable for multiple years under multiple coaches. I can see no other solution but to take this function completely away from the current duo and hire someone else for this crucial task. I am very skeptical that a new hire would be able avoid being unduly influenced by them should they remain, even in a reduced capacity. If that was the only way, I guess that is better than no change. How would you solve this overarching problem?
i can't say one way or the other, but does seem like lots of long-term foundation work with training center, youth program, etc. just need something in the meantime so we aren't the worse soccer team in the world forever
I've heard more than one pundit say that Mansueto's stressing of the developmental systems in Chicago is going to eventually reap benefits. Pete (is totally ignorant as to whether that's true or not, but has heard it more than once from "experts")
I follow the Academy/Fire II as close as anyone. I hope I'm around when this golden generation of Chicago Fire Academy 13 year olds become first teamers.
