I'm pretty sure they have a plan to set one up in Baltimore. They couldn't move Loudon as the lease they signed on the stadium didn't allow it. They could have just had one in house, of course, so it might not be a good plan. But it is a plan.

There are teams in the Bundesliga that got rid of their reserve teams. They send the couple of academy kids they're interested in every year out on loan (if they're not ready for the first team). Wolfsburg is an example. There's no such thing as Wolfsburg II.

So when Wolfsburg signed a player like Uly Llanez, Bryang Kayo, or Kobe Hernandez-Foster, they had no reserve team for them to play on. Yes, one might think their agent would have known that. But whatever. Llanez and KHF were with the Kleibans.

 

U15s doing well overseas. They beat Morocco and Croatia in the group phase. Lost a close 3-2 match to England.

There are so many young players getting minutes in MLS that its hard to keep track.
First start in Dallas last night for USYNTer Nolan Norris. A kid who can play DM or LB. But in Dallas' formation right now, he's more likely to be a DM. Last with the US U19s (which was really the U20s).

 

The U15s beat Japan today on a goal by Omar Hassan of the Sounders.

This was the starting XI today. 10 different MLS clubs represented. [ManU Romero of Real Madrid had gone back to Madrid for a game.] The U15s beat Japan, Croatia, and Morocco at the event. Lost a close 3-2 game to England.

So if those two were there whose place would they have taken. Also for background was Japan missing any of their players for similar reasons?

 

Chirila is en fuego this year. He's reportedly signed a homegrown contract to start in 2025.

Check out the link above for roster analysis and names left out. Apparently, Julian Hall of NYRB and Cavan Sullivan of the Union weren't released. Yes, the day has come when the US U17s can't get players released. Jude Terry, the highly regarded LAFC midfielder, is out with an injury.

The name that immediately jumps out to me is Argentina dual-nat Maximo Carrizo. Back with USYNTs, which is great news.

The wingers and Amids on this team are A+ man, even missing some of those others. Considering how those areas are one of the strengths with our U23s and U20s, it's amazing to have more coming thru with the U16s/U17s. Mathis Albert is with Dortmund, and not the Galaxy.

At this level no one will ever know. Unless we have an expert on Japan 14 yr old soccer players.

 

Are we the only geeks in the whole world? I like how Athlone keeps us informed about Jamaica. We experts for every team and region in the world we can ask these questions. So we can be even more geeky.

 

I don't know if he's an expert on youth players, but @naopon is our expert on Japan. Perhaps he knows?

 

Vazquez is really one to keep an eye on. He had a couple of goals in this game.

If we can get guys released the U20 team could be interesting. Vazquez, Berchimas, Cremaschi, Vargas, Tsakiris, Esmir, Kochen, Figueroa, etc.

 

Isn't it odd that it's actually a good thing we have players at that age good enough to not be released?
