Tulsa sit 11th out of 12 teams in the USL Championship West. They've played 9 games and won only 2 with a goal differential of -6. Should SKC be scared?
Given the way we've played probably. But KC should still win. I went down to Tulsa last summer and went to a game, Goodrum looked pretty good, was the best player on the field in the game I watched. Should still take care of business at home.
Man I would have thought Afrifa were cursed until that goal right before halftime. I'm not sure about him in possession but he's attacking hard out there!
Tulsa received an ass kicking while it was simply a practice session for SKC. I hate watching games like that.
And apparently so does almost everyone else based on pictures of the mostly empty stands. Those are views that give some fuel to the fire of MLS opting out of the Cup. Note, I'm not in favor of this - especially since the stoopid liga mx tourney caused the problem for MLS. But you see scenes like last night and it's not exactly inspiring.
In part, I think attendance suffered because we are in the middle of girls HS soccer playoffs. There were quarter final games last night. Also club teams are still in training for State Cup. That said, I attended KCKCC graduation at CMP last week and it was noticeably more full for that than for last nights game.
My son was helping finish out his club's MRL schedule last night with a game, it wasn't the only one in their age division last night.
I remember those days. Lots of youth soccer wrapping up. Club league seasons, high school state tournament, Presidents Cup, State Cup, rain out makeup games, heck even just practice. Soccer parents and their kids are a major (maybe THE major) demographic that attends games. Definitely hurt attendance last night.
I really didn't understand what our formation was at the end of the game. I'm not criticizing anything just that I was confused. With JFR, Pulido, Agada, and Salloi on the field I was confused. Did they switch to 4-5-1. I really couldn't tell. That's probably not a ringing endorsement of my knowledge or the teams shape.
Haven’t gone back and watched, but I’d guess a 4-2-3-1, with Hernandez and Memo as the 2 behind Pulido.
Don't forget the futbol grandparents. Pele was the player of my childhood and I see a fair number of my generation, sometimes without family in tow, at the games.
